Also, Trump specifically campaigned on no new wars, so an undeclared war in the Middle East is exactly NOT what the voters wanted. What the bloody hell are you talking about? On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. That was an invasion of sovereign American soil and in any way you slice it, an act of war. The same bunch that did that is running Iran Today. We've been fighting them for 47 years. This is NOT a "new war". |

I'm confused. Ever since Obama's second term, Democrats have abandoned any pretenses of caring about the Constitution or even just liking this country. It got so bad that we elected DJT as a giant middle finger to them - so that we could take their dirty tactics and weaponize them by simply taking the majority position on 80/20 and 90/10 issues. The prevailing thought was that they would see Trump as so egregiously outside of their norms that they would claw back all of the overreach they institutionalized. They did no such thing and allowed tens of millions of foreign invaders through the border unchecked and on federal assistance programs. This resulted in Trump's re-election by POPULAR vote - gaining significant ground with every demographic except crazy cat ladies. In the face of all of this, your complaint is what exactly? That we aren't playing by the rules? Where did that get us? By playing outside of the established rulebook, we've been able to make serious headway in Latin America (which will continue), we've withdrawn most US presence from bases in the Middle East (and considering the same for Europe), we haven't expanded our roles in Ukraine to direct support and Iranian ground invasion hasn't occurred, and - to top it all off - we are seeing net negative migration for the first time in FIVE DECADES. You'll have to forgive me if I don't care about the rules anymore. The other side doesn't play by them. To the extent that we restrict ourselves with rules that they do not, we are self-limiting our capability to succeed and ensuring that they take power again. To truly care about being principled Constitutionalists would be to expend all energy and political capital for the sake of political reforms that will never be accepted by our modern institutions. Massie chose (pretended imo) to do that, and now he'll never be effective in Congress again - if he ever even was. But hey, at least he said the right words even if he never got anything meaningful done, right? Still waiting on him to drop that Epstein list... |

It's Trump, go ahead...he'll print up hattrick hats, sell them for a profit and move on. It will go down as a sign of congresses impotence, and frivolousness. If it was worth doing any of those times, they would have made it stick. But it's just politics. |
