Quoted: to preface, this isn't a git gud noob thing.. I am good. I'm a PC mouse and keyboard player, I've been playing fps games for 20+ years and I'm not godlike, but I'm pretty damn good. youtube recommended a video warzone cheaters getting caught, which mentioned the cronus zen.. apparently the thing is pretty damn popular and one video where a streamer posted an affiliate link sold 200k of the damn things just from his ONE fortnite video cod especially is maddening because I get lasered by controller faggots or dropshotted or quickscoped routinely.. and come to find out that many have cod aim assist, plus cronus or xim aim assist, plus recoil control, plus dropshot and everything else. I KNEW something was fucky, I always assumed it was sbmm or netcode shenannigans, I had no idea these devices were as popular on consoles as they are.. pc streamers/players are even worse, using foot pedals to toggle hacks, plus controller aim assist, plus cronus and whatever the fuck else they're running. Shit is really disheartening and a big reason why I quit cold war, the upper lobbies were full of nothing but quickscoping snipers.. now I see how they do it. I know these devices won't take noobs and make them god tier, but already decent/good players are elevated way above us "natural" players who don't use anything but their own eyeballs and reactions faggots are perfectly ok with shit like this.. disgusting. Keep in mind, as stated earlier, Cronus Zen is now detectable by Ricochet anticheat. That should tone down things on the pure console side, but if you have crossplay with PC on, nothing will change.

My buddies and I are in our 50s and we play WZII.
Non of us cheat, and all of us hate the cheaters. However, we'll come in 1st from time to time and we usually place top 5. For me it's not about the game, it's about but hanging out with my bros. |

Probably a lot.
There's some sort of dopamine hit people get for being good at these things. That they don't stop and realize the the joy is supposed to come from the activity of playing. My game has been and is still very much Warframe. It's hard to cheat in a game on so much crack.

I would bet at least 25% maybe as high as 50% in COD MW2. With COD struggling to fill lobbies I bet they aren't kicking hackers anywhere near as quick as they should.
The easiest to catch are the wall hackers. Watching the kill cam if a guy orients on me before he can see me and especially while moving through a building - I report him every time. I doubt it does anything though.

I have no idea about ALL FPS games right now, but I will comment on MW2 as that is the only FPS I play currently.
For the record, I am a PC player. I do have ~1500 operator kills in DMZ and 25000 kills in MP + Orion unlocked and am in the top 1-2% world wide stat wise depending on game mode. As of this morning there are 455,091 members on the Cronus forums and 136,175 members on the XIM forums, obviously not all of them play but a couple hundred thousand probably do. In MW2 my guess would be 15-20% of players on console are running a Cronus. I believe that 90%+ console streamers/content creators are using a Cronus or XIM. I believe there are fewer pc players who cheat in this generation of COD, my guess would be less than 10% of normal pc players are running a cheat program, maybe 5-7% are running a Cronus or similar with a controller. 50% of streamers/content creators on pc are running some type of cheat, many play with a controller plus Cronus on pc for this reason. If they can actually detect and ban players with a Cronus/XIM, I believe there will be a mass exodus of hardcore players from console to pc followed by a huge number of free to play rage cheaters. Anyone that says a Cronus/XIM isn't cheating is using one and completely full of shit. |

I don’t know anything about FPS games but 8 ball pool on my phone has tons of cheaters. It seemed to happen all of the sudden and when I looked into it there was a company selling a cheat for some other game like pubg or cod and it came with a free pool hack. It was super frustrating because I’d lose 5-6 games in a row and they hung out on the higher level tables. Finally they added a report button and it seems to have helped some.

About half of players are cheating in any competitive fps (Apex, tarkov, rainbow 6, cod) especially games with crossplay and I'm including cronus and like devices.

I started CSGO in 2020 and ground from Free to Prime in a year. There was at least 2 cheaters per comp match during my Free time. Maybe one total after Prime. I couldn't even do Wingman as it was guaranteed cheaters, even when I got Prime. There may have been a handful of cheaters in Casual the entire time.
I'll guess 10%. |

I sometimes play World of Tanks.
Once while playing artillery I fired at random at the enemy base at the beginning of the game. I killed one of their tanks, and the upset player said he was going to report me for cheating (I wasn't and have no idea why I would even want to). I do wonder how WoTs sets things up. Sometimes your team is slaughtered, sometimes the other team is. Sometimes it seems like you can't get any line of sight on the other side while they are nailing you. I'm not sure if cheating is going on, but it seems like there is some sort of manipulation of the gameplay. |
