Finally got my kineti-tech trigger and finally tracked down the discontinued zev dark grey pvd barrel.

Can't get it to run for shit yet with the 9mm slide. I've cleaned up everything I can find.  It's getting better, but will not run a full mag without some failure.  Usually just fails to lock up.  Tacsol 22 slide runs great.

Lots of sanding and polishing and sanding and polishing mostly rear rail issues.  Binding on the trigger bar on reset. Binding on the slide.  Slide binding on the connector.  Seems to be about 95% now.  Only a rare failure to go into battery and failure to reset.  I only have about 6-8 mags through it.  And I finally got the RMR.

I got a Brownells RMR slide also. Very tight tollarance.  I put it on my stock Glock 17 and had problem till I put about 100rds though it. Don't ask about how hard to put in the rear sight

Nice collection of P80's, I've done one compact and one full size, both in 9mm.  I'm thinking about doing another full size frame for my G22 just because.

I got mine when Cabela's had a great sale on the type 1 RM06 for $348, but It looks like that deal is over. I have seen several RMR's on the EE for $300 to $350.

Was scanning the EE and someone’s ad mentioned Poly80 frames coming out to take Gen4 slides.  Any truth to that?

I wouldn't count on it. It's my understanding that they can't do a Gen 4 because Glock still has valid patents on it, while the patents on the Gen 3's have expired.

I know they are comeing out with both the single stack G43 and the G26 size. The 43 might be a Gen4? Also they are going to make complete ser# frames. Personally I am looking forward to there large frame G21 G20 size. Hopefully later this year.

Hopefully they will make their 43 frame around a different magazine, you know, one with REAL capacity like a 7 or 8 round without some $30+ mag extension.

I'm hopeful about the G43 coming out soon, but I'm going to wait to see what other's have experienced with their builds first.

The G43 is not a Polymer80 product but it’s extremely similar, imma hold off on that one.

I hadn’t heard about large frames but that would be pretty awesome.  I have a gen 3 Glock 30SF and it makes sense to have a Poly80 frame for all your Glocks for which Poly80 makes a frame.

The SS80 (G43) is a glockstore product made by FM Products.

Polymer80 is working on a large frame model.  They've said they hope to have it out sooner than next year.  If they keep up with their six month average of releasing new products it should be out this fall.  Then hopefully a 29/30 size early next year.

Just a machined shim and a few light frame mods to make it set even with the top of the slide, and the 80 frame is a little shy width wise too.  Nothing too bad at all.

The carver was a lot easier then the frame bushings for the SJC frame mount that is on the 1.5, but once completed, the SJC is a little more solid and less obtrusive.

I made them, installed after machining out a pocket where the plastic rails would have grew from.  I run a tacsol 22 kit on it.  The only thing i don't like are the cheesy plastic magazine feed lips on the tac sol mags.

Eta there were some videos on you tube of people using compact rear rail modules in the 1.5, so i started thinking on it.  I found it easier to cut and bend my own.  YMMV

I carburized them, but looking back on it, it is not required.

Compare the rail lengths.  The v1.5 has a much longer rail length then the v2.0, which in turn is longer then the factory front cast in glock rail.  The metal rear rails are close between the glock and poly 80 rear modules.  Adding the rear metal rail to the v1.5 just makes it bombproof, since the front rails are already much longer then necessary.

Near as i can tell, the metal rails on the 1.5 remove any possible movement during the trigger press/striker/sear interaction  that tends to want to cam the slide and frame away from each other, and give a more consistent break, since they hold the rear of the slide tight during the trigger press process.  Maybe that is why the 1.5 originally came with plastic rear rails, since they are not really needed to lend strength to the overall action?

It was an interesting learning process, made for fun tinkering time, but as cheap as factory Glock lowers are, made 0 financial sense.

Thanks very much. This one I built for my daughter who was born on the first.

Going to do one for my son when I can narrow down a color scheme and then a G17 for me. I'll have an RMR of some sort on mine but they'll have standard pistols.

Cobalt poly 80. Swenson slide that I got with the barrel at 80% build.com. The lower parts kit is a lone Wolf parts kit. They are addictive. I have done 2 Black the cobalt and the FDE Brownells. So far they work 100%. The Black G19 has about 600rds on it in the last month. With both Glock and Magpull mags. With mostly my 124 gn. Reloads. I have a G19 white on back order. I want to do a all white Star Wars themed version.
