| I don’t mean to side track this thread, but I figured some or maybe most of you might know. I went to buy a Dawson RMR plate last evening, and it appears they are on a new gen? Anyone familiar with this ECO, extreme co-witness 1 piece? Looks like it’s $30 cheaper than the original plate which is apparently no longer available at Staccato nor Dawson. |

I’m not a huge fan of the set screw rear sights, as all of mine with the factory thread lock stuff have come loose (solved by a degreasing and loctite 243), and the additional screw holding the plate down is also nice. I’ve never had a properly installed 2 screw plate with adjustable rear come loose on me, but a built in rear sight coupled with an additional screw holding it all to the slide…well I’m not mad about that. |

I would. even at $50 a mag and $100 for the plate you're at ~$1600. I would FO. I'm saving for a 2011 now. It's not a purchase I will make till I hit my goal weight, so that's pretty solid incentive cause I want one bad. |

If you need windage adjustment on your irons (which I have never ever once had to do, they are perfect at mechanical center on every staccato I have seen) you can still knock the front sight a touch. They rear sight's overall width is narrower too. Not that it matters a ton, but Ive always preferred the lowest profile possible on RDS guns. Whether or not its narrow enough to expose bottom corners of the RMR HD window I cannot say (and I acknowledge it doesn't really matter) but I do like it. If anyone here doesn't like the new ECO plate and wants the set screw style, let me know. I'll have a few available. |

I got an MPA DS9 LOC for USPSA LO, to replace my old G17 CO gun. The S2 grip texture is a bit too aggressive for me and I'd get the S1 if I could do it over, but the skateboard tape mostly fixed it. Took the XC to go shooting with the wife yesterday evening, had a few failures to go into battery when releasing the slide lock. Anyone think that will smooth out with more rounds? This thing is new so its probably a little tight.

| Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Took it out yesterday and out 200 more rounds through it, does a little better if I just pull the slide. Going to keep shooting and cleaning it and see if it smooths out. |

Do you own an Atlas? Curious what you think on the Venom and how it performs because it's mainly composed of Atlas parts. |

Out of the box it is heavily oversprung and the trigger is between 5.75-6.5 lbs. with otherwise great characteristics. Shooting it, I was amazed (coming from plastic striker fired pistols) with recoil control and accuracy. I went home and watched a bunch of Prodigy tuning videos on YT and then took it all the way down and stoned/polished all metal-to-metal surfaces/edges (except for sear contact areas) and then tweaked on the sear spring for a while. End result was buttery smooth 4.24 lb. trigger, again with great pretravel, wall, break and over travel (which is adjustable). I had nothing to compare it to as I have never handled a higher end 2011 so the next I was at the range, I asked a few people if I could see their BULs and Staccatos. BUL trigger was lighter and more delicate, Staccato was on par with my "tuning". I'll also note that the MAC has a relatively loose frame to slide fitment but it tightens up just fine with a loaded mag and is laser accurate. At this point, the MAC was a dream to shoot. I then placed a $600 order with Atlas to play around with ignition kits, springs, mags, guide rods, etc. but I really don't think the MAC needs anything other than maybe a 14# recoil spring, a reduced power mag release spring and possibly a tool less guide rod. Keep in mind, my target is "duty" not "race gun". TL;DR: Buy the MAC, pick up $20 worth of springs, add an hour or 2 with some Flitz and a Dremel and you'll have something that can go toe-to-toe with a Staccato P. |

I knew the original owner who only ran it through one match locally then decided to put his expenses into another project. I had two pistols he wanted so we ended up making a stellar trade work. Titan is the flagship and the "big boy" without any compensator... 5" bull barrel. It's a heavy girl. But she's stupid accurate. Apollo has a ported bull barrel. Main difference amongst the ones listed. Ares is similar to the Athena in they both come in 4.6" but the Ares also has the 4.25" option for those who want to run concealed. |
| No, I chose Venom over Atlas. I did handle and shoot a few atlas’s ( Athena, Erebus and Titan ) in my opinion the venoms fit and finish is nicer, the attention to detail is amazing and only rivaled by Infinity in my eyes which is next on my list. It also shoots as good as it looks. |
