Everything I’ve read says no, they are different designs.  My 365xl has never gone off on its own, anyway.

Different design, not applicable.

If you don't believe me, I'll buy your 365s for $10 each.

No problems at all, other than Sig not investing more into that platform than the P320. I always said the larger P365 pistols would be better overall to replace the P320 and that is not knocking the P320.
Be the change you want in this world.

The P320 was a striker fired adaptation of the P250 while the P365 is ground-up designed to be a striker fired handgun. They’re a completely different internal design/geometry and issues with one don’t translate to issues with the other. To date there have been no reported AD issues with the 365.

If not for the MHS I think Sig would be more heavily invested in just canceling the 320 and shifting to larger 365’s (the latter which is happening anyway), don’t think the 320 will go away though.

So why doesnt sig just modify that into the 320?

Changing the P320 design would be admitting there's a problem with that design.

This and I’m no engineer but doubtful of the feasibility. There’s something about the M17/18 that is different causing it to not have the worry of the 320 but I’m not exactly sure how/why that is.

I haven’t kept up with much of the 320 news but something seems to have changed since the frequency of reports have essentially died off. With a platform that is only getting older in use you would expect it to swing the other way. Yes that’s probably from a lot of civilian sales dropping off, but the LE contracts are a lot higher percentage of actually used/carried guns that take longer to cycle out even if the user wants to. From what I remember some of the testing was sub-scientific and wasn’t the FBI one only made to discharge after parts of the slide were cutaway to get a better view? I’m not saying the 320 didn’t deserve the shoulder to be turned to it, Sig has never been one to put it all out there, but they’re also typically happy to drop a product with a quickness.

Aside from any political or liability aspect, it's a completely different design and no parts interchange.  The only thing the two guns have in common is they are both striker fired and use modular FCUs.

As someone said above, the P320 was a redesign of the P250 to turn a hammer fired gun into a striker fired gun. The P365 was designed to be a striker fired gun from a clean sheet of paper (or as much as any handgun is today).

It would probably be simpler just to scale the P365 up to a P320 size frame (the P320 can shoot 45ACP and 10mm, the P365 can not). But that would be an entirely new handgun.

Yeah theres really no reason why a P365 Xmacro with the 3.7" barrel or the Fuse couldnt be a duty pistol. A beefed up p365 xmacro for 10mm would be cool.

I got the Fuse kit and fell in love with it.  Mine has a Vortex Defender CCW enclosed dot on it.

It really likes to be run hard and fast.  I feel it could absolutely be used as a duty pistol.

For the size it is unbelieveably accurate and the trigger has smoothed up to a nice revolver like pull.

I personally don’t think the P365 series guns have the durability to survive as service pistols. I say that as a guy that has 2 P365’s with multiple slides and grip modules. I have all that because the pistols keep breaking or wearing out on me.

Some if it is on me for being a nerd and using aftermarket parts and modifications trying to eke out a little more performance. But I’ve had stock trigger return springs break at around 5,000 rounds.

I’m a huge fan of the platform and literally have thousands of dollars tied up in magazines, accessories and spare parts. I don’t think there is a better form factor for a CCW pistol and without it we would have never seen the advancements from HK, Glock, S&W, and others that we have been so fortunate to enjoy.

I personally think the design is pushing the envelope with our current available materials and not capable of being durable enough for a military or police main issue duty weapon without some improvements in materials or slightly beefing up the design, which would ruin the form factor I love so much.
