Why is the finish different on the 43x and 48 that standard gen gen 5’s?

Looks like the old frying pan finish

Mine G43X slide's finish pretty much matches my G45.
At least, that's how it looks to me.

Yes I did see a G43x and a new 48 that had the dull flat looking finish , I have a 48 I bought maybe a yr or so bak it has a little bit glossy type blk .

The 43X I bought several years ago has the nDLC finish which I dislike because it is too slick. The 43X I purchased recently has a matte finish which I like a lot more.

Some time in the last year, Glock went back to a dull gray GasOx finish on the 43X and 48, rather than the slick black DLc like on the Gen 5s.

Some are also seeing thing finish on the barrels of new Gen 5 guns.

Reports of the durability are positive, but the jet black DLC is something I like a lot personally.

The Glock nDLC finish is inferior to the DLC finish on my Staccatos.

I have a Gen 5 G/19 usa made mos and the outside glossy looking finish has wore a good bit all over the front sides of the slide ,and by the right side ejection port .but over all still looks good even with finish ware .

Yeah they used to look like this but most recent ones at academy look like a duller finish

nDLC looks better IMO but I don’t know if it’s necessarily better

Timeframe? The 48 is a 2023 gun.

I’ve noticed this the last few months looking at Glocks at my LGS. Seems that some are back to the old finish.
