A local police shop had Smith 640 police turn ins in .357 mag for $400. The one I handled I would describe as excellent condition and didn’t seem to have been fired much. Admittedly I’m not a revolver guy but used to own a 638 and GP100 in the past, but sold them. I have the hankering again and still have several boxes of .38/357 mag ammo. Is $400 for these a decent price?

Might be some of the former Michigan State Police surplus guns from a while back. I still have a couple of those that Centerfire was selling for $349ea back then. $400 today is a good price.

I put Sile combats on mine.

That's a great deal on a stainless gun. I was able to get a 442 at my local ffl dealer recently, that looked barely used for only $300 and it came with a set of Crimson Trace laser grips. I grabbed that as soon as I could. The owner said it had been there for a couple months and no takers and they are a busy store. Sometimes when you find a deal and it seems like a good deal, jump on it.

Good price.   I’d buy one.  Probs my wouldn’t shoot much .357 through it.

$400 is a VERY good price for a clean 640.

Awesome gun.  It's my daily carry gun and has been so since about 95.

Mag-na-port it, and get some good big dot nights sights for it, and it's about the perfect gun for close encounters.

I'd have already bought that, or 2

Good price, kind of an odd one to show up on the police trade in market.

When l carry my Model 67 I'm also carrying my 642. Just figure that's the fastest reload.

So yeah, l might not have stopped at one, if l had the chance.

Had one for years. Nice little pocket pistol. Bout the only thing I ever shot with it was a couple rattlers with CCI shot shells.
