For me, personally, you win the thread in its entirety.

I grew up in Italy and I saw those many times over the years, in the hands of Italian Polizia or Carabinieri.

I am extremely attached to those and yet, can't have them here in California. Something that bothers me immensely: that's actually my favorite model of Beretta.

Congratulations!

ETA: damn, unexpected page ownage; reposting an old picture of mine of when I used to live in Italy. I had to sell all of those prior to moving here.

Thank you very much.  I was very pleased to at least get two very closely matched for my boys.  I hope they appreciate them when they're old enough.  A beautiful collection you had there.  Too bad about Commiefornia...

I've been cleaning the one I'm keeping for myself up a bit.  Ran it through the ultrasonic with heat, water, and Ballistol.  A good drying, and oiling and she's feeling good.  I also managed to subdue the importer mark a bit.  I hit it with a few coats of a Birchwood Casey touchup pen, then cleaned off the excess.  Did this a few times and it left the mark much darker.  It almost disappears in the right light.  Still thinking about grips for it as well as I think the condition of these is the only real detractor at this point.

I mean it with all of myself; she's gorgeous.

And I think I can tell you, having grown up in that land (which I never fully liked and accepted) she's a great item of those times;
I just bought me an M1934 from 1941 yesterday; I tend to go back that way (if you see, I used to have one but had to sell).
These (like yours) for me are unobtainable here in CA. It does bother me.

Enjoy yours and once again, what a wonderful thing to do for yourself and your loved ones.
I do foresee that these will be quite collectable one day. Wait and see.

I couldn't decide between these two pistols. So I did the logical thing and bought them both!

It's great. Feels so much better than a standard 92 or A1. The grip is definitely the best upgrade on the pistol... the dovetailed night sights, threaded barrel and extended safety are all just bonuses. The CZ is still the better shooter of the two though.

My first non issued Beretta

She’s a little scuffed up, but I got her for a good price. I haven’t been able to find much info on the 92 fs police special with factory Trijicon night sights

Lovely.
And listen, the more scuffs, the more personality.

I am at the point where I can't bear flashy new guns (in general) anymore.

Great guns... all steel parts. Or at least they were when I got them.

Have three of them.

Here is my newest one, got her about a week ago. 96G Centurion, made in 1998. I was told that this sat in someones safe for a longtime and never been fired until i got a hold of it. It came in the Police Special cardboard box with three 11 round magazines (phosphate or parkerized ones with the Restricted for LEO use only stampings). Slide is not bruniton finish. Came with all steel parts. Trijicon night sights that are dated '98, they still glow but dimly. I changed out the hammer and the grips, always wanted a beretta with wood grips and decided this would be the one.
