The Blue Line Mauser 1911 uses GSG magazines and is manufactured in Germany just like the GSG and Sig 1911-22 LR pistols. I have been around a few GSG and Sig 1911 22 LR pistols. The GSG/Sig slides and frames are ZMak and are pretty soft. I helped a Friend replace the sights on his GSG and we had to work on the dove tail to accept the sights. The GSG and Sig 22 LR pistols are made to look like a 1911 but generally function. Very few 1911 parts will fit the GSG/Sig/Mauser pistols For most buyers the GSG/Sig/Mauser are ok but I don’t think they will last as long as a 1911 steel pistol frame with an aluminum slide 22 LR conversion kit like Marvel, AA, Kimber or Ciener. The Walther/Umarex, Colt marked 1911 22 LR pistols use a aluminum slide with ZMak frame. The Colt is a rebadged Walther/Umarex Hammerli 1911 22 LR. The Colt marked 1911-22 (Rail Gun, Gold Cup) looked better to me than the GSG/Sig/Mauser. I think it boils down to your budget and if you like the looks of the particular 1911-22 LR. Magazines seem to be readily available for the GSG/Sig/Mauser as well as the Walther/Umarex/Hannerli/Colt pistols. The Chiappa 1911-22 pistol seems to use the poorest design and seems to have the most reported problems. |

The cost of an Advantage Arms standard conversion kit from Lanbo’s Armory is $268 with one ten round magazine. Extra 1911-22 AA mags are $13 from Lanbo’s Armory. Almost every 22 conversion I own morphs into a complete firearm. I liked the Advantage Arms 1911 kit so well I bought a stripped RIA frame I assembled to make a complete pistol. I had a Colt 1911 conversion unit back in the 70’s on a dedicated frame. I sold the Colt conversion and frame to cover medical bills. I actually like my AA/RIA pistol better than my old Colt conversion unit. My RIA 1911 frame with Advantage Arms Standard 22 LR conversion kit.
