There are tons of reputable 1911 smiths out there. The vast majority of good ones have wait times in the months if not years to get to your gun, some even don’t accept work anymore, nor put you on a waiting list they are so backed up with work. Might try novak’s, Wilson or nighthawk. Prepare to spend lots of cash

Don Williams, www.theactionwork.com, has been my go-to smith for over 20 years.
Very skilled and a nice Christian gentleman.

Frank Glenn used to be the go-to guy for Colt Python trigger work.
I'm sure he is capable of working on other Colt models.

Definitely first quality work. It is the action works ( link missed the S)

As he is near me geographically I see a lot of his work - not sure on his backlog ?

You’d be surprised what a replacement sear spring will do once it’s tuned. It’s not difficult. I also have some stones i use to gently remove any burs in the trigger channels and also lightly clean up other surfaces while leaving the sear and hammer engagement surfaces untouched. Not difficult and no real risk to anything as long as you know what to stay away from. I’ve had a couple triggers professionally done and while one of them is better, the others aren’t much different than I managed to do myself. Of course I practiced a lot on all the Tisas ones I bought

Edit. I used to live near a now deceased master smith. Now I’d have to send something off and wait for months so that’s why I DIY. My Colts are the ones I paid someone else to do but if I buy another Colt I’ll go the same route as the Tisas. If it doesn't work I can always send it off
