I’ve been looking for a particular style of grip, but I don’t know if such a thing exists.

Does anyone make a wood “target style” grip for a K frame square butt, without finger grooves, that sits flush with the bottom of the metal grip frame?

S&W made wood grips for K frame that were flush with the square butt shape. Often used with a  Tyler T grip adapter.

Any “Target style “ will extend below and in front of the square frame.

You could modify some Hogue grips I guess.

On Ebay, you can find S&W revolver target stocks that are made in Thailand. I bought a pair several years ago for my model 66. I returned them because I ordered a set without the speed loader cutout. They are dimensionally smaller than factory target grips. I really liked they feel of them.
They fit my hand much better than the factory target stocks, especially at the base of the grip. The backstrap is exposed, but they do extend a bit below the grip frame. Otherwise they look nearly identical to the target stocks that came with the revolver when I bought it in 1988. The fit and finish was perfect. Check them out and consider giving them a try.

Yeah I’ve got that setup (factory magnas with a t-grip) but was wanting a one (two actually) piece version of that.  Basically a boot grip target stock.  I like the look of target stocks but I’m trying to maximize concealability.

I’ve got some old aftermarket target style stocks that I may just cut down.

You may need to scroll a bit before you find the type for a K/L square butt, open backstrap, no finger grooves and a speed loader cutout.

Check the Altamont Super Boot grip.
These have a very subtle finger groove that can be easily sanded off.

Those look really nice. I've never considered a boot grip for a K frame. Price is right too.

Thanks, unfortunately it looks like they only offer those in round butt configuration.

That said, I do have a couple of round butt guns those would look nice on…

There's no good reason why a set of grips can't be altered to meet your needs.
As above, a grip can usually have the bottom cut off flush with the frame and finger grooves can be removed.
The general shape can be altered by thinning thick areas, and clearance for speed loaders increased.

One of the best grip materials to alter are laminated wood Micarta.
These are thin sheets of dyed wood laminated into a solid mass with a phenolic resin.
They're water proof and proof to most solvents.

Best of all, there's no surface finish.
To "finish" a grip just sand with finer and finer sand paper, then polish to the gloss you want with a buffer wheel or hand rub with a metal polish.

Agree with drafiswheel above.

I have a set of K-Sq Ahrends I picked up a show that had been shortened/reshaped in a similar fashion. They found a home on my 3" M10 Sq from this past Holiday year's holiday sale at PSA.

It might be worth trying to find a rough set of S&W targets and seeing what you can accomplish

Well, I’m kind of in the process of what you guys are talking about. I dug through my parts bin and found an old set of aftermarket N frame target style grips that had a chunk missing out of the back of each panel just below the grip frame.

I’m in the process of shaping them now.  I wasn’t able to cut them completely flush with the grip frame because there’s a gap between the front of the grip frame and the panel (I guess they allowed for some variance since it’s held at the bottom by the pin anyways). However I was able to cut a significant portion off.

It’s going on a 4” S&W 15, which has a pretty thin barrel profile and no ejector shroud or under lug, so I think the full target grips don’t (visually) balance very well on the gun.
