If a 19 gen 3 regularly came in the MOS version I’d buy one in a heartbeat.

Why a gen 3 vs a gen 4?

I personally prefer the trigger on the gen 3. Some of my well worn gen 3 triggers are like butter… All my gen 4’s left something to be desired with the trigger.  The “slicker” grip of the gen 3 is more comfortable for carry during long periods.

The other part is nostalgia. A 19.3 was my first handgun purchase and my EDC for well over a decade. I’ve debated getting it milled to bring it into the modern era but want to leave it as is.

Got it. Maybe I’m jaded cause I got rid of my gen3 19. The grip didn’t fit my hands very well and it wasn’t very accurate. I always thought it was me but I  ended up measuring the lockup and it was at the very end of the loose spec. About the trigger, I never use to be a trigger snob but man I’ve been spoiled by good triggers now.

Doesn't say SOCOM units only that U.S. Army Contracting Command, Newark, New Jersey was the  contracting activity.  Possibly for other countries we give money to.

That does not look like a real military photo; rather, it has social media influencer vibes.

The lower is missing the third pin. I have never seen an image of that optic (MRO?) used by NSW. It's hard to tell, but there are no obvious comms cables, which I would expect to see. ETA: Team Wendy helmet, too.

Should have looked for the third pin! I figured as much, the MRO did throw me off but I was 50/50 on this one.

Another 19 gen 5 in the wild. This photo is from a joint exercise between the 24th STS and french SF, the 416 doesn't have the heckler and Koch defense markings and it's an A5, which makes me think it's a Frenchie, but I thought their Glocks where 17s and had FDE frames, and all the accessories are very much US styled, from the TTI mag extension to the Daniel Defense irons.

Thoughts?

I don’t know… everything about that guy’s gear looks way too clean to be from an actual military exercise. There’s not a spot on his uniform, gear, weapon, or helmet. Zooming in to look at his stock, for example, it looks fresh out of the box without a mark on it. The only thing that shows any wear at all is the extended baseplates on his pistol mags. It looks like he took everything else right out of the package, put it on, and knelt down for the photo. Maybe I’m wrong, but are you sure about the source of the photo?

I picked this up today with some other surplus stuff. I remember a while back these were considered a rare mag made exclusively for Delta. I know with the 19x out there now, dark earth mags are everywhere. Did they ever make a commercial .40 cal dark earth mag, or is this mag still rare?

They started selling from the factory, so they’ve become more widespread.

Are this the same color as the 19x mags? I'm colorblind/colorstupid and I always thought the .40s where a shade darker

I don’t have a 19x mag to compare it to side by side. It does seem darker, but it’s also well used and probably been whiped down more than once with a dirty CLP and carbon soaked rag too, so who knows.

… and thanks Parabellum226 for the heads up.

The colors are different. 19x mags look lighter. Coyote vs Dark Earth.

Not really SF, but the USMS SOG gets pretty close, I noticed this on a video they posted recently:

Wonder why one of them is carrying a Glock, a gen 3 or 4 it seems, don't they have staccatos for everyone?

Without turning this into a clone thread, ATEi does a solid job milling for a DPP and backup sight. I didn’t remove the DPP to compare to my MOS3 plate, but visually it’s damn close.

That's pretty close. Definitely good enough for a clone. Extremely jealous you have an MOS3.

When I originally asked C&H, they said no. That answer might have changed since.

Overall pleased with the ATEI route… they’ve consistently done good work, were pleasant to deal with, and I got it back exactly one month after putting it in the mailbox.

How long ago did you ask? They may no longer do it, and your answer may be more current as I was working with them over a year ago

I called within the last year. I assumed they’d have the specs given the rear sight they make for the Mos3 and the mos3 photos they posted, but the gentleman on the phone indicated they didn’t have the programming to make that cut.

Editing to say “that cut” means the exact MOS3 cut, not generally milling for a DPP and rear sight.
