Pictures of the new G21 compared to my G17. Seems a lot of space and open internals on the G21.

Is this just due to the ambidextrous slide lock or is there a fitting issue here?
Have not fired it yet.

I have Gen2 and Gen4 G21s. They both look about the same as your Gen5. The Gen 4 more so than the Gen2.

That’s normal to accommodate the ambi slide release.
All gen 5 guns have more gap.

My G21.5 is exactly the same, as well as my G19.5 and G44.

Have a 20.5 and the same gap is there
No issues so far from 200ish rounds

I appreciate the replies. It’s had about 250 rounds thru it so far after first post. Not a lot but all three mags were flawless and last 50 rounds were 230 gr HPs. Ate it all like candy.
No issues, shoots great as expected! Fits my stubby fingered hands nicely too.

Yep gen 5 guns have a little more gap due to internals.
