So, the P30SK & VP9SK used to come with 10 round mags, and an optional 13 rounder, but then HK released the same mags with an increase in capacity by two rounds each.

Can the older 10 & 13 rounders be upgraded or does HK only sell the magazines as a whole unit?

I don't believe you can increase the capacity in the 10 round mags,(unless you make something yourself), as they have a different magazine base. The 10 round mags have tabs on the sides of the magazine to attach to the base, unlike standard/full capacity mags and their bases attaching to the bottom of the mag body.

I'm going to get some of these for my USPC/P2k mags.

I wonder if the plastic bits, minus the spring, could be used on the old 10 & 13 round mags to gain an extra two rounds?

Those kits from HK are supposed to work on the 13rnd mags to make them 15rnd mags. Not sure what if anything can be done the 10rnd SK mags. Maybe guts from a 13rnd mag?

I 'think' the 10rd mags use a different base pad set up than the 13rd mags.  I have a USP9c and VP9.  I used the HK +2 kits to convert my two 15rd VP9 mags to 17rd.

I have a bunch of 10 and 13rd USP9c mags.  When I get a chance I will dig them out and see what works with what.  It would be neat to convert the 13rd mags to 15 if possible.

I have been using my VP9 17rd mags in my 9c with the x-grip adapter with no issues.

Update.  The 10rd mags have a different base pad that does not allow the 13rd to fit.  It has tabs that goes up the side instead of a lip around the bottom.

I installed the +2 kit in the 9c 13rd mag.  I was able to get 15rds in.  The ejection felt really soft for the first 10rd when unloading by hand.  Not sure if this would improve or not.
13rd mag with +2 kit and 15rd of BB.  Also found my HK P2K knife in the back of the safe.

I have used the magazine upgrade kit on the 10 round P30SK/VP9SK magazine with success. It now holds 12 rounds, cycles fine, slide locks back on empty. That being said, I haven't tested it extensively, and I would be cautious about doing this with a carry gun.

Super helpful and thank you for going the extra miles through all of that effort!

I use these kits to make my USPc .40 12 round mags hold 13.  They load easy, insert on a closed slide fine, and function perfect.  HK uses the same follower on both the USPc 9/40 mags FYI.

By the way, for those looking to upgrade their older magazines to the new standard using the conversion kits, I called HKCS and they told me that the springs do not need to be changed for the 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 round conversions. The only parts that need to be changed for the 10 to 12 round conversion are the follower, tab, and baseplate. For the 13 to 15 round conversion, only the follower needs to be changed.

In my experience, the HK brand kits worked flawlessly on my 13 and 15 round mags.

I tried them in the 10 rounders and got multiple malfunctions in different magazines. The spring is just too stiff, and pushes the rounds upward too quickly.

Those in the first pic are 10 round "ban state" mags. They cannot be converted at all.

I got the 10rd mags from CDNN over 20 years ago.  They were running a buy one high cap mag and get a free 10rd mag deal on all HK mags.  I bought a ton of 9c and 45f mags to get free 10rd mags for each.  I think I made them regret that deal.  I use the 10rd mags for range/training.

Do you remember which springs you used with the upgrade kit? Did you use the original 10 round spring or the one that came in the 15 to 17 kit?

I used the kit to make a 12rd just by modding the spring and using the follower. 100pct reliable with hundreds of rounds per mag.

Per HK Customer Service, the original springs can be used without issue. I just upgraded another 10 rounder using the upgrade kit and used the original spring without any problems. All 12 rounds fed just fine, slide locked back on empty.

Has anyone increased the capacity of the full sized USP 15 rd mags?

I think the only options for the USP 9f are the 15rd mags or move to the 18rd Jet Funnel mags.  HK does have a factory 31rd mag for the 9f.  $$$.

Aftermarket you can get mag extensions for the 9f like what HK parts sells.

I don’t think any of the kits mentioned in this thread will work on the 9f.
