Just picked this up for $250 with period correct Brauer holster. I'm using it for its intended purpose as a sidearm when small game hunting. Already used it to anchor a gut shot woodchuck.

I have a 929 I picked up off GunBroker, great shape externally, but when I went to shoot it, it only fired off maybe a third of the rounds in the cylinder. Light hammer strikes. Took it apart and confirmed the common problem with these great little pistols is the mainspring guide rod has a plastic piece at the top that interfaced with the hammer. This plastic piece often disintegrated over time and use. I ordered a new all metal guide rod from Numrich and now all is well. Easy to swap out. Could be yours is fine, but if you have issues, examine the mainspring guide rod first. |

Yeah, for the most part, built like tanks.
I did read where the FCG is somewhat complicated to disassemble/reassemble and for that reason they are not popular with gunsmiths. I would like to find a good video for a complete disassembly/reassembly for the 929. Have only found partial disassembly videos so far. |

I didn't like my 929 very much, sold it and bought a S&W 617 which goes with me pretty much every range trip.

I'm not spending 617 money to bang around the farm. If I see one flaw it's that the cylinder must be properly aligned to clear the frame on ejection. |

I have a H&R 949 that is one of my favorite 22lr hand guns. |

I've got a 922 camper that I'm pretty sure is unfired. Grandpa gave it to me when my grandparents moved. I have another H&R with a longer heavy barrel but I don't remember the model. I admit I know very little about these guns
