Caveat:  I'm not a huge Glock dude, but do own a Vickers G17.3 and a G48.  I feel the need to have a Gen 5 offering in the safe, just because.  Although, I am somewhat perturbed by what a new MOS Glock currently cost.

I'm probably looking at a G17.5, G47, or G45.  Currently leading the race is a gray frame G47 MOS, because I love two tone pistols.

Is the short recoil system on the G47 working out OK?

Is the poo pooing of the MOS system legit?  I could always get a non MOS 17 or 45 and have it milled at a later date as an option, although that would not be preferred.

I have several 17s, 22, 34, 35 and a 21. I want a G19, MOS or not.

I have a G34 that I had the slide milled and put an optic on it.   I feel like I do better with the Green Nite Sights...

The 47 is fine.  I’d get it over a 45 or 17.   Then you can get a 19, and you’ll have a 19, 45, 47, and 49

The grey frame Glocks are my favorite.  Hard to go wrong with a 47 or 49.

Mos is just fine use quality plates and follow proper installation instructions. I like FCD lots of folks have good luck with C&H.

If you aren't a glock guy... get whatever brand you are into?

I would get a 17 or 45 over the 47.

Got a good price on a 47 to try but I dont have it yet.

I have never owned a 17 just a 19 and 19x so it made more sense to go 47 in my position (I think)

The G47 MOS is a good choice. I have many Glocks and, in the past year and a half, have added three MOS models (34, 43X, and 47). I really like the 47. The grip is better for my hands than a 19 and it has a somewhat compact size which could be carried with no issues. I am using the Glock plates on my 47 and 34. So far, they are holding up fine.

I'm impulsive, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the grey frame G47.  Looking forward to trying it out and compare to my Vickers G17.3.  Still perturbed by the pricing structure.  I remember my first new Glock was $300.

I already have two 17's so the 47 doesn't really do anything for me. IMO, if you're going to have a 19 sized RSA, just get a 45.

As someone who already has a  Glock 17 and 45, I picked up a 47 but have yet to shoot it.  I just keep gravitating to the G45.

Update - Loving the G47 after 250 rounds.  Decent trigger, good extraction/ejection, and the recoil impulse "seems" flatter and softer than my G17.3 (perhaps due to the shorter recoil spring setup).  Maybe Glock reached perfection with the Gen 5 models.  I'll eventually add a SCS MOS in the future, but I'm enjoying shooting it as-is now.
