I also had a stainless steel, Mitchell Luger for many years (I have a....secret love affair with Stainless steel  ) Although the ramps on the frame (where the toggle strikes) were peened: a common occurrence with those pistols and the tip of the extractor broke off at some point, the pistol was 100% reliable, evidently uncommon. My original Luger mags wouldn't fit much more than halfway into the magwell but MecGar mags ran like a top. I would expect; given the R&D put into this Turkish example, coupled with the use of CNC, they might be able to produce a pretty reliable pistol. Certainly good enough for a fun day at the range. |

It was a while ago, but experiences like that tend to hang around. Meh, my first experience with a commander-length 1911 was with a satin nickel Colt Combat Commander that was an unreliable POS. Many years and a number of other commander-length 1911s later I got over it. |

| It might be fun to have a Luger that you could modify without destroying the collector value. I would like a 6” or 8” with the barrel mounted sight. My Luger has about the worst sights of any handgun I have. Wider, higher front sight and square notch rear. The trigger is fairly easy to smooth up, but you still have a lot of slack from the monkeybar linkage. |

Great to look at, but don't shoot more than a couple rounds. |
