I am 70+ years old and have always wanted a REAL Luger. My HOLY GRAIL gun! I was always looking on Gunbroker and gun shops for a deal. Damn, they were always way out of my budget, even for a used gun. Low and behold, a few months back, I saw an original Mauser Navy model (six inch barrel) which was NOS (new old stock). My GOD, they only wanted $2700 for it. I bought it on the spot! A brand new, in the box, original Mauser. I am as happy as can be! Sorry, no pictures because I am not a member of the forum. Believe me, it is in pristine condition and it shoots like a dream.

In April, I scored an all-matching 1910 DWM for $1415. There are deals out there, just have to be patient. Even the wood grips match. Zero rust. Excellent bore. There is obvious wear on high spots but what do you expect from a gun that is 115 years old?  Next up for me is a Walther-made (AC code) P-38. I'm not too concerned over a specific year as long as it's a Walther. ETA: Just got my Walther P.38 yesterday. AC43 h (July 1943). All matching, non-import marked, AEG grips. I overpaid at $1500, but I'm ok with that. |

Years ago I bought a Swiss P08 Luger in the original 30 Luger. I LOVED to shoot it, up until the bakelite grips broke and I haven't been able to find a replacement set since. So I wanted to find a P08 Luger in 9mm but wanted something that wasn't worn out. I looked around and found locally what was a very cool unicorn. It's a late 80's West German new production gun that until I bought it, had never been fired, new in box. It was so cool, and had the charging handle on the left hand side had been worn down (black oxide finish) from sitting in Styrofoam for so many years. It shoots like a dream and the finish is gorgeous, black on black. I actually had to buy orange 2" diameter targets just so I can see them with the sights.           |
