I was perusing the inventory at my local "gun-getting emporium" when I spotted an old-stock, new-in-box (read: unfired condition) Bersa Thunder .380. Since it had come from an estate sale, they couldn't sell it as new. These generally have a street price of $329.00 (plus a $10.00 surcharge for the mandatory State Police background check). This pistol had all the original Bersa papers. The dreaded trigger key had yet to be unwrapped. This pistol is old enough to have the cardboard box of days gone by. I bought it for a paltry, wait for it... $199.00! That's 130.00 below the standard OTD price. Needless to say, I am "happier than a speckled pup under a red wagon". SCORE!

I have four Bersa pistols: 1. My rare Thunder .32, 2. My Nickel-plated Thunder .380, 3. My blue Thunder .380, and, 4. My TRP9 "Duotone" (nickel-plated slide) 9mm pistol. Some of Argentina's best handguns belong to me. These pistols are a great value for the money and "punch well above their class". Bersa's Thunder .32 and .380 pistols may be bigger than their Walther counterparts, but their added mass makes the handguns more controllable, thus making them easier to shoot. |
