Just finished cleaning and oiling this one. RIA I had bought my dad a few Years ago for Christmas. He died in August.  So I'm cleaning and oiling all of his guns until my mom and I decide which ones to give family.

Updated picture of the old M1991A1.

1994ish Colt M1991A1
Original barrel, extractor, and ejector
EGW Barrel Bushing
Wilson Bulletproof Hammer and Sear
Ed Brown thumb safety(love the slim pad)
Wilson Grip Safety
Ed Brown Plunger Tube(Original Colt fell off)
10-8 Slide stop(Original Colt was fine, this is just cool)
EGW HD Magazine Catch(Original Colt MIM part wore out, wasn't holding magazines high enough to engage the slide stop. Gun still ran)
Smith and Alexander MSH
Pachmayr Grips

I'm contemplating sending to Jim Milks @ Innovative Custom Guns for a little freshening up. I originally sent this gun to EGW about 10 years ago when Jim was still doing work for them. They fit the grip safety, did a reliability job, and applied the gorgeous matte blue finish. Everything else was installed and fit by me, for better or worse

Stepson thought he was going to get this & maliciously messed up the finish. Isn't pretty, but shoots well. Manufactured in 1941. I want to get the archive letter & see where it was shipped.

Wilco

Fuck MeHimThem. He messed up a Charles S. Reed Colt???? Sacrilege.

This is the lowest production of all pre-war inspector stamped Colts, Col. Robert Sears and Waldemar S. Broberg following Reed into the Colt War Production era.

In pristine original condition, this is a $10,000+ sidearm.

In any condition is an important firearm.

Dear 581; choice weapon of the pre-war era.

Please PM me, perhaps can swap emails or more PM's.

Will need the s/n and any other photos, data, accessories and perspectives you have.

We have the largest private War library in our region. With the s/n, I can immediately locate the shipping date, destination and number of pistols in the shipment plus production nuances unique to Reed's short tenure, very few pistols with his stamp.

Would be a privilege to run the parts with you: from hollow back stocks with/without mold numbers to barrel markings to wear patterns, can gain a sense of its history and originality.

This pic is from a recent outing with some friends. One of them asked me to bring all my 1911s but there was now way I was carrying that much weight so I just brought these. The non 1911s are theirs and the rifle up top is one of mine.

Hayes Custom Guns

Here's my 9mm 1911  built by Hayes Custom Guns.  This was made to compete in USPSA, Steel Challenge and IPSC matches.

Magwell was much prettier when I got it, but I promptly shot about 1500 rounds and 3 matches before I got a chance to take pics.

Thanks! I just broke 1,000 rounds with it. It was very lightly used when I got it. Runs like a top and shoots lights out... was making golf balls dance pretty easily on the berm 30 yards out today.

Picked up this Kimber Stainless Target.  It is my first 1911 in 12 years when I had a Colt 1991. Hopefully it will be just as good.

My 18 year old Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. Removed the slim grips/bushings, replaced with Woodcaliber Turkish Walnut Stocks
I have only had it a couple weeks, the previous owner(s) obviously didn't holster it or shoot it much. I will change that...

Thanks!
