We were visiting some friends this weekend and my fiend asks me if I want an old gun he got from a family member. It looks like it’s missing a few parts and was stored under a rock, in the garden…
All the controls work smoothly and the bore looks good, amazingly. I have an old 1873 trapdoor in about the same shape, so maybe I’ll clean them up at the same time.

Does it have the transfer bar safety?
The old ones do not. |

Three-screw = pre-1972
If no transfer bar, then it hasn't been converted (a good thing to many Single Six afficionados). Something looks odd about that trigger, though. |

Did all the New Model single sixes have adjustible sights until the vaqueros came out?

Needs the main spring assembly and grips but could be in a lot worse shape considering how it was stored. I wonder if anyone still does nickel plating ….

So it’s an old model with serial number 352xxx It’s missing a couple screws as well. What’s a good place to purchase the missing parts? |
