Trying to figure out if I have an abomination or something kool. Colt says manufactured 1981. Bomar sight is not dovetailed, looks like a satin nickel finish, arched not flat mainspring housing, solid barrel bushing. The finger breakage was due to the different method needed to field strip the firearm and remove the barrel bushing without stressing the fingers on it. If you field stripped them as intended, you were never going to have bushing finger breakage. But, it's always easier to blame a part then the operator who is the real weak link in the system. Now I do have a solid bushing in my ultimate SS NAGC but it's because it was fitted and polished during accurizing and I still have the factory OEM one if it's ever sold. |
