I own both. 21rd mag w M17 is nice, DA pull on SP2022 is comforting. I have +2 mags for the SP. Which would u put in the night stand? |
| I also have both. Tough call. I think the 2022 is a better pistol than many give it credit for. I honestly like the ergos on it better than the classic P series. But I'm also a fan of the 320 pistols. I don't know which way I would go on this. I have high caps on both, so that's a wash. Both take a light, my M17 currently has one but my 2022 doesn't, for no good reason. I'd maybe lean 17 just because the operating drill is one step easier. |

I can shoot the P320 series guns much better than any P series guns (and I own both). I think the ergonomics of the P320s are just much better. Plus you can use a grip module that fits your hands better (I use Brouwer and Wilson Combat grips). So definitely M17, with a light and red dot. |

I'm in a similar boat, in that I own P-series pistols and carried a P228 for several years, but I find that I just don't shoot them as well as the M17 / M18, especially under pressure with the long DA first short. I don't own an SP2022, although I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I really like all the options available to configure the M17 exactly how I want it. It's not cheap, but if you're willing to pay for the conversion so your commercial M17 slide can mount the Romeo-M17, it's a fantastic optic. The M17 has become my primary HD pistol, while I carry an M18. The magazine options for the M17 are great too, although the 30-round mag may not be totally practical. Attached File |
