I’ve got a few of these mags and they differ a bit from the others. These are standard 12 rounders but they have a longitudinal dimple on each side at the base. What the problem is, I need to replace the springs and standard 229 mag springs from Wolff won’t fit as they are a bit too wide. Where and what term is needed in order to get some? I’m sure others have been down this road before. ETA: This is the .40 S&W mag. It appears these mags are called the E2 mags, correct? |

All .40 / .357 OEM mags I have / seen don't have dimples. Also, standard .40 mags are 12 rounders. Maybe yours are limited to 10? But you stated that they are 12... |

Is there a "Triskelion" (the little three S symbol in a circle) on the back, probably toward the bottom? If so, these sound like older German mags. I'll claim a senior moment, for some reason I was thinking all the .40 S&W P229 mags were US made or Mec-Gar and straight walled. But a little Googling shows German .40 S&W P229 mags with dimples at the bottom like the other German made mags. I don't remember when the cutoff of the German made mags was, but they had different followers and floor plates than the US and Mec-Gar mags, and I think it will be difficult for you to find replacement springs for them. |

Just found my invoice on my phone, the springs I ordered were #79703, these are too wide to fit inside the “dimpled” mag. When I get home tonight I’m going to get a total count of these mags and try the number you suggested, it sure looks like they should fit. |

The new springs came in today and they fit like a champ. That was the correct size. An added advantage is I found yet another saw back stashed away. The old springs were noticeably shorter than the new ones. Thanks again guys! |
