Debating on whether to go back and pick this one up. I'm not crazy about the Cerakote refinish, and someone went nuts with the color fill. But six original magazines seems like a deal-sweetener. Edit: They won't budge on price, already tried. $700+tax. Attached File |

Factory mags are hard to find and can easily hit $50. Unmolested guns start at $700 and go up. I'd say that's a deal worth thinking about, if you like the P6. I had one years ago, sold it for some unknown reason, and have since acquired a 225-A1, which I will keep. I don't know that I would call these collector items, but the price has been climbing for years. |

They're asking a bit more than I'd be willing to pay for that. It's looks like a great gun, but unless its something you've been looking for and you're in love with it I'd pass. Leave them your number and tell them to give you a call if the seller wants to negotiate the price a bit more. |

I'm not a fan of the cerakote finish either but the number of mags might help you get past that. It looks like an early one (pre 1989), so may need to have the feed ramp modified and polished if you want to fire hollow point ammo. https://www.ar15.com/forums/handguns/P6_225_and_hollowpoints/14-151079/ Todd at Customized Creationz used to be one of the go-to places if you wanted to have the feed ramp work done, but I'm not sure if he's still doing it. http://www.customizedcreationz.com/ |

| Seems like a p226 (or 9) with outdated mags. Thats a no from me dog. I dont see the value in it at $700 I also dont see the collectability in it. *shrug* |

For that price, go with a P228. I got a P6 in 2013 for $400ish. I got lucky and found some factory mags for cheap. I put night sights on it and even changed the mainspring to help with the DA pull. I never grew to love it, the fact that it would not reliably feed JHPs certainly didn't help. I bought a P228 a couple of years ago and it is a much better gun. |

And that's what I wound up getting. I carried one on duty for a while about 30 years ago, but sold/traded it long ago...decided I "needed" another. Watched GB for a week or so and finally snagged this one for a little under $700 total with shipping/FFL fee. The P6 in the original post interested me as a novelty, but the refinish gives it way too much of a "Tammy Faye Bakker" effect for my taste (too much gaudy makeup). Attached File |
