Crazy to watch Jerry Barnhart articulate the benefits of a pistol red dot and single plane aiming in 1997, over 25 years ago. Given some of the ignorance and fudd lore that still persist I'm sure he got a lot of hate. Bushnell HoloSight - 1997 |

I shot iron sights with target focus for quite a while. Especially if you have a red or green/yellow front sight. Now if I want to practice a tight group Ill use front sight focus but for rapid fire, short distance (10yds or less) I think target focus is adequate for self defense shooting if you have the basics down |

Its a little brighter than my preference for everything else, but Im weird in that I always preferred mine slightly dimmer than most people. The + setting will likely be perfect for most. |

My first dot and didn’t want any concealment hurdles to compound my learning curve. Gonna buy a P as a nightstand gun in the Spring and I’ll FO on one of the new offerings then. |

It still worked fine but he was fed up with it covering the entire rear of the slide. |

Daniel View Quote Yeah, I bought a plate to run the 507k for a while. When it makes more sense, I’ll pick up another RMR. No reason not to since it’s just sitting in the safe anyway. Decided to go with the C&H Plate to mount the 507k. Originally looked at a cheaper plate on Amazon, but the C&H seems like a better system. Now we wait. |

Got the CHPWS plate in for the 507k. I like my FCD plate setup better on the 19, so I’ll eventually go with another of those at some point in the future. Still, this one mounted up just fine and should work until I’m ready to swap it out.

Took my Glock 20.5 MOS 10MM large frame with Holosun SCS to the range for the first time yesterday. Sighted it in and took it over to the 50 yard, two one foot steel plates. The recoil took some getting used to. lol
Sun was right in my eyes. 50 yards, two one foot steel plates. Far dirt bank. Steel plates on either side of the large rectangular target. |

Shot show seemed kinda meh from a RDS standpoint. I guess that's to be expected somewhat as the tech seems very mature from a durability and battery life standpoint.
The thermal / red dot fusion from Holosun seems neat though. |

Thermal overlays or completely thermal optics becoming somewhat uncommon, but available on pistol dots or in a small form factor like Eotech-sized for reasonable prices. |
