My wife wants me to put together a little plinker for her. I’ve got a Mk IV 22/45 that’s great, but with my Dead Air mask it weighs about 40 ounces. She wants something she can stash in a backpack and won’t take up much space or weigh much. I was thinking about the SIG or Taurus with the Hux .22 can. Either of those with the Hux will come in at about half the weight of my Ruger and Mask combo. Anyone have any experience with both? I’m leaning towards the SIG but have heard it’s finicky about ammo. I’ve heard the Taurus will shoot anything, but it’s a Taurus and my experience with Taurus isn’t great, but it’s been a while. Thanks, and I’m sorry if this has been asked before? |

I have a TX22 with a sparrow on it, and it's been nothing buy awesome! It just runs. I know a few other guys who run suppressors on their TX22's...and they are all very happy with them. Say what you want about Taurus, but they have the TX22 figured out. Search around on here for "what host for my .22 suppressor" type threads...and you will find tons of people who love the TX22's.

I don't have a TX22, but I do have the P322. I have found the issue with the P322 isn't the gun being picky with ammo, but with the magazines. The two magazines I got with the gun - several years ago - will tend to bind up when you fully load them. So, I just load them with 15 rounds and they seem to work fine. I bought one spare mag and that works flawlessly with 20 rounds. You also have to be careful loading and follow the instructions. The double stack design requires you to load them carefully. I have been very happy with the P322 other than the magazine issue. I should really buy a couple more mags and see if they work well with 20 rounds as well. I run mine with a YHM Phantom suppressor with a Holosun 507k sight. No problem with feeding or ejecting. |

I've had both but I liked the P322 better and didn't feel the need to keep both so I gave the TX-22 to my son. Both ran 100% for me but the TX-22's barrel leaded up a lot more (a known issue with them). Mine was a Gen1 and I think the barrels on the Gen1 are too light/skinny and it wasn't optics ready. A Gen2 TORO model would be a better apples to apples comparison but I'm happy enough with the P322 that I don't feel the need/desire to buy the updated TX. I couldn't care less about the FRT (in any pistol) so that didn't factor in at all. Lastly, I will mention that as a suppressor host, I prefer my Ruger MKIV 22/45's over either the P322 or TX-22. ETA - I've read a lot of people state issues with the P322 magazines but I have 6 of the factory 20rd'ers and they all work 100% |

I have both, I like the TX22 a little better but had trouble getting the TX22 up and running. Seems like they had a bad batch of barrels or something, had to send it back and still had some problems. Ended up just putting a ton of rounds through it and now seems to be working fine. The Sig P322 has been great from day one. It's a little slimmer, my smaller kids prefer that one. Both have TandemKross trigger upgrades and I like the TX22 trigger better. The Sig trigger feels weirdly springy or something. It's basically like you're bending a metal leaf spring to actuate the trigger. I'm not buying any more Sigs while Cohen is in charge so I wouldn't get another one. |

The gen2 Toro is a great suppressor host. It is a little heavier than the gen 1. It has an optic cut that is direct mount for 507k, the barrel is thicker and has a much simpler suppressor access/set up threaded barrel. Between the two, 322 vs tx22, I would pick the tx22, and I am not a taurus fan. I am happy with the tx22 though. I have a couple. The gen2 toro tx22 is actually a hair lighter with suppressor and holosun 507kx2, than just a 22/45 lite without suppressor or optic. And I use dead air mask, there are smaller lighter suppressors. |

It just eats! Only cleaned it twice so far. Most of my other .22s are finicky with one load or another (MKIV doesn't like Remington Golden Bullet, Marlin Model 60 is finicky with CCI Mini Mag, etc.) but the TX22 just keeps ticking! My son just turned 10 and I took him out to the range for the first time the other day. We borrowed his sister's TX22 because he didn't like the controls on the MKIV and he absolutely loved it. I will be buying him a TX22 TORO soon (or an M&P22x) so he has his own pistol. |

While he did find a slightly better trigger reach with the M&P22x, he didn't care for the grip feel (too straight and narrow) and found the Taurus grip much more pleasant. I am inclined to agree. The triggers, to me, were a wash. The TX22 has slightly more takeup, but they both broke the same. Anyway, my son is happy with his choice, it is a known quantity for me, and I used some of the price difference on ammo...
