I came across this video today that says that SIG is “now selling” the military production M17 slide assembly both with or without the new ROMEO-M17 mounted on it (jump to 2:25 mark): Is the $800 pistol optic as good as they say? He claims they are releasing an M17X model with the optic mounted (it’s a little unclear if he’s saying that the slide is available separate with the optic as well as part of a complete pistol with optic). That makes sense, as a way for them to expand the appeal of the new optic in the civilian market, but I can’t find any reference to those products on the SIG web store or anywhere else. Has anyone heard about these new offerings? |

That dude (who I like) has some kind of relationship with SIG. I have heard the M17X, seen around the 2:30 mark in that video is coming out with the RomeoM17. I don't know if slide/optic combos will be a thing. But over the last few years, SIG has sold M17 contract slide exchange kits with 3 mags. So it's possible. But I believe he has jumped the gun a bit. I see no evidence of the M17x or etc available to buy. |
