| I am looking for a good gunsmith for Smith and Wesson revolvers. I have a 27-2 that needs some work. The trigger is heavier than it should be. I don't have a scale to see exactly how much it weighs, but it is far heavier than my 686 or any of my other Smith revolvers. When I work the trigger in DA it locks up and works fine, but is heavy. But when I cock the hammer in single action, there is a couple cylinders where the hammer will stop about halfway back and must be forced back. I took the side plate off and did not find any excess dirt or grime. The gun is near pristine. If I take the cylinder off the gun and pull the release back and work the action, it is like glass. If anyone has any suggestions on what it could be I am open to that. I would like to find a smith to work on it in central Ohio. I am not opposed to sending it off to a larger shop like Dave Lauck, but I would prefer to just be able to drive and drop it off. Thanks in advance fellas |

He's been featured in many, many magazine articles as well. |

I have a Smith Model 29. A older gun. The trigger kept getting stiffer and harder to pull till the trigger. and hammer was getting stuck half way through. I found the trigger right above where it makes contact with the hammer to have a big Burr. Stoned that down and polished the rebound slide on some 400 grit sandpaper on a flat surface. Trigger is great now. |

I lost all faith in new S&W revolvers. I imagine all the good S&W revolver smiths have retired. |
