A couple of weeks ago I picked up a minty S&W 25-5 complete with paperwork, unopened tools and wooden presentation box.

As is often the case, the interior of these boxes deteriorate and mine was no exception.

Got a re-flocking kit from Amazon and went to work.

Thanks.

I don't see why not. Just paint it with the "adhesive" (latex paint) blow on the flocking and let it sit for 12hrs or so.

I have no intention of keeping the revolver in this box.

It's gonna go on the shelf with all my others.

Looks good! I had a gentleman from the Smith-Wesson forum repair my presentation box for my Model 29-2. My box was was much worse condition that yours. Best part was he lives only about 30 minutes from me and delivered it to my home when it was completed. I'll post up pictures later today.

Thanks.

Yeah, when doing "Google" searches, I got numerous search results for him.

I thought seriously about contacting him but, in the end, given my tendency to do things myself I decided to go my route.

Love to see your pictures!

I had my box restored probably 12-13 years ago? Outside finish was worn & scratched. The blue velvet cloth was deteriorated to the point it was sticking to revolver finish & grips. Extremely bad condition. Took a lot of meticulous cleaning. Now, the revolver is in safe & box is in another box. One of my favorite revolvers that I do not shoot.

Very nice.

I know that there are various linings (I've read 4 different)

I believe the flocking is proper for mine because of the leftover "debris" but, I don't know for sure, nor do I much care.

I really like the fabric lining (such as your example) and debated for awhile on which one to go with.

Thanks for the pics!

These look great. I don't have the plastic insert for mine, it totally fell apart years ago.
