Hey it's better than me out roaming the streets getting into trouble. I'm a big fan of the EGW bushings. Just a little bit of hand fitting makes them perfect.

OP, where did that bushing need fitting? I’ve had various factory bushings feel really snug in turning, but the barrel seemed to have plenty of space, and similarly I’ve had the opposite, where the bushing almost snagged the barrel, but without the barrel it almost rattled in the slide. Also, (to pretty much everybody) has anyone had reliability issues after swapping out a generic bushing for one that needed hand-fitting? See above experience for why I’m asking.

Maybe I measured wrong but it was about a thousandths or so too big to fit in the slide. I put it on a sanding drum mandrel in a dremel (Wile E. Coyote gunsmith lathe) and hit it with some fine emery paper for a just a bit and it was fine. Also the little nub that fits in the groove in the slide was just a hair too thick, a few strokes with a jewelers file and it was good. Another one of theirs I've done that also went in a Springfield slide needed that fitting too. The ID for the barrel fit was perfect. |

It has some holster wear. They make spring plugs with just a little more length to make them sit flush with the bushing.
