Ever since the merger with Colt, the decisions coming from CZ USA get dumber and dumber. Colt Executive 1: we should discontinue 2/3 of our catalog! Colt Executive 2: then we should only import a handful of our most popular SKUs so they are hard to find! Colt Executive 1: You know, there aren’t enough inexpensive striker fired handguns on the market. We should concentrate our domestic production resources on a useless me-too gun! Colt Executive 2: Nothing says pride in our brand like mediocrity! Colt Executive 1: Gosh, the gun market is really soft right now. No one is buying our guns! Colt Executive 2: Raise prices on the things barely available! That will spur sales! Colt Executive 1: Buyers are really interested in the Bren 3 with all the media coverage from Eastern Europe. We should capitalize on that and import them or the Bren 2 as a holdover! Colt Executive 2: There’s no demand for that, Americans only want our glorious 6920! Make the P-10 brown! I happy about CZ buying Colt until I found out they put the Colt executives in charge of CZ USA. All those idiots know how to do it go bankrupt and stagnate a product line. Not sure what CZ was thinking and CZ USA was being run just fine. Hiking prices into a slowing gun market is peak Colt executive stupidity. The P01 was selling like hotcakes at $550, now they are $700, and if you can find one no one wants to pay that much. |
