I picked up a new shield plus today with the straight trigger. Love the feels and ergos but damn the trigger is heavy. Substantially heavier than my M&P 2.0 with the stock trigger, or any of my glocks. I don’t have a trigger gauge but I’d guess it’s 7 or 8 pounds. In the reviews and videos I’ve seen on this gun I don’t remember a heavy trigger being discussed. Can you guys comment on this?

I plan on putting rounds through it this weekend to see if it lightens up some.

Seen them advertised from 4.75-10.0 lbs.

I haven't gauged mine but my uncalibrated trigger finger says 5-7ish.

Damm, the one my pops has is on the lighter side. It's gotta be like 5# if that.

# 13249 Shield Plus *MA Compliant left the factory with a 10 lb trigger pull.

IIRC, they are discontinued now.

M&P trigger jobs are super easy.

Dan Burwell's excellent PDF is for the older M&P version, but most is the same

Just get the regular gold/silver trigger return spring and the yellow paint marked sear spring and all other parts are standard.  It takes about $25 and 10 minutes to fix a Mass model.  I got my OEM springs from eBay of all places.

I think the heavy trigger spring was a green or dark gray and the heavy sear spring was red.

I ordered the standard trigger return spring the day I made the original post. Still waiting for it to show up. Didn’t get the sear spring yet, at the time I was looking I didn’t see them for sale. I imagine there is no harm in running the heavy sear spring with the standard trigger spring? I saw a post on reddit where someone changed out just the trigger spring and it reduced the pull down to the 6 lb range.

Yes, you can mix them.  I got my yellow sear spring for $9 shipped on eBay.  Midwest Gun Works has them for $11 plus shipping.
