Personally, I prefer some ebony. But right now, it is just injection molded plastic stuff coming out.

Article is live, enjoy.

In our last adventure, I discussed quality European craftsmanship. In today’s Revolver Rant, we’re heading south of the equator. Specifically, to the southern Brazilian town of São Leopoldo, the HQ of Taurus Armas. But we’re not really going to review a Taurus. Not technically. Instead, we’re going to review a Rossi

So why specifically are we reviewing a Rossi? Simple. Not everyone can afford a $1,000+ wheel-gun. Trust me, I know. I can’t afford what I have either, I just happen to sell blood by the gallon to willing buyers on the black market. Seriously, have you seen the prices of good wheel guns? Rugers are now in the “Jeez, that’s S&W’s league” range. I still remember buying brand new GP100s for under $450 and I thought that was expensive when I was a rookie patrolman.

That’s where Rossi comes in. It’s an affordable revolver for the working-class revolver aficionado.

Interesting. I’d like to see how they hold up.

That 3" gun has had my interest ever since Rossi released that "Magnum Country" video. I don't think I'll be buying one, but it definitely looks interesting.

Great review.  Thanks.

Good review, although I found an error: "Henry’s making very attractive handguns now."

Good review and I wonder when we'll see replacement front sights since they note that as a feature in the video clip and you mentioned the sight needing to be more visible.  I'd also prefer some other grips but for around $350 for a medium framed 3" gun I've definitely been looking at them.

Word is front sights for the Taurus 856 work for the Rossi

Just going off my own experience and your review, a red insert style sight would probably work well, I like them on my revolvers that have them.  Shame Millett seems to have quit making sights, I've had a couple of them over the years.

It looks very good, but not the T&A some of us were hoping for. One of the reviews on budsgunshop stated that there are no replacement parts and that repairs may be on your dime.
Does anybody know if this is true?

It is a new gun, so parts might be hard to get at the moment. Comes with a warranty, and Taurus has increased their customer service.

That's shiny? Naaaaaaah....

THIS is shiny:

The only shiny thing I'm seeing in OP's photo is the brass. I though this thread was about Brazilian made ammo, but I was confused as I never heard of any part of a cartridge being referred to as a butt.

The Henry revolvers ain't bad looking though. Except for the weird undercut in the barrel, and the 'tarded looking cylinder release latch. And it'd look better with blued steel grip frames instead of brass. But it's got good looking lines overall.

Yeah and it looks just as bad on those Colts as it does on the Henrys. Looks like whoever was making the barrels screwed up the diameter, installed it on the frame, then when they went to install the crane said "Oooops. Well screw it, no time to change it now, just hog a chunk out of the bottom and call it a day."

Agreed- legend/rumor has it that when S&W was consulting with Bill Jordan on the gun that would become the Model 19, he specified that it had a shroud around the ejector rod "In case someone should bump their head on it".  I want to say it's in one of his books so who knows how valid it is, but there are stories out there of rods getting bent under use and causing issues.

Any updates on the Rossi?

I've wanted one since I saw it come out. I have some limited experience with Rossi revolvers, and it has been all good. That would make an excellent carry gun right there.

Now I have to say, that Magnum Country advertisement is so good - I WANNA WATCH THE MOVIE!
I mean, c'mon, that looks like it could be good, if done into an actual film.
