I picked up some .45 ACP dated 1964 Lot number 6666. It looks good, but I am wondering if its GTG since its pretty old. I paid a little more than I should have, but I got caught up in the thrill of an auction.

I have GI match .45 ammo from the 1960's that is stupidly good stuff for GI .45 acp ammo. I shot up about 1/2 of it and have 7-800 rounds left.

What year does the brass have on it? 74? Shoot some, keep some. Brass is very good for reloading.
Liberals are a curious mix of communism and fascism, they want to destroy you but want to use your own money to do it.

I'm getting down to the last box, the others have all been destroyed...

I have WCC, WRA, and EC 45 ammo, all from '42, that I occasionally shoot.

I save the original old ammo for when I fire my 1918 and 1944 1911s.  I reload for the others.

My dad had .45 ACP in that box from Korea in the attic for decades. Shoots fine.

I do wish I had saved one box to display with the 1911 Korea bring back I inherited.
I don't need therapy. I just need someone to rob me at the gas station so I can let it all out.

The US military changed to non-corrosive primers some in the early to middle 1950s.  So, yours should be fine.

Personally Id keep it, especially if you have any old GI 1911's. I'd stick it in the box with my CMP Rem.Rand.

I just discovered that I had made a typo, the date on the ammo was 1964 not 1974.
