The Xmacro has quickly become my favorite/most carried platform of the handguns I own. As a result I've been starting to accumulate a few 17 and 21 round mags for it, enough so that it got me thinking; I need a 2011. I've tossed around the idea of getting a Platypus or a Staccato HD since I have a ton of G17 mags, but a P211 that accepts Xmacro mags would be the just the ticket! I don't have nearly as many Xmacro magazines, but this would just give me even more reasons to pick up some more. Am I the only one who thinks that this is a great idea? Hook a brother up Sig!! They are due to release the P385 and speculation is, its an upsized P365 meaning... enlarged 365 FCU to fit a "full" sized grip module that will use P320 magazines. Considering Sig is about to have 3 different platforms that all use 320 mags and the fact that 320 mags are typically cheaper and more plentiful (while being just as good and reliable as 365 mags), I can't think of any good reason why Sig or anybody else would make a 2011 platform pistol that uses 365 mags? I guess theoretically they could design a smaller, CC version of a 2011 using the 365 mags? Not sure if the engineering would work out (1911 FC parts in a smaller/thinner 365 sized frame?) but even if it is possible, I wouldn't hold my breath on it becoming reality. |
