Get one while you can. I have a target model and will be buying 2 standard models to squirrel away.

ETA: Confirmed with Sig it is the Standard fixed sight model only being discontinued, the Target model is still being produced. I am still gonna buy one before they are all gone!

I like the U.S. versions.  But they just don't have the feel, fit and finish, and heft of the Swiss and German versions from the past.

They also don't have the hammer bite nor the huge price either, well at least right now.

Certainly agree with you on the price issue.  Never had hammer bite issues with any of my Swiss versions.

Can you please cite a source on this?

I can go get one tomorrow if they are discontinued, but would really preferred to not spend the $$$ if this isn’t validated.

RE P210
Are these being discontinued? Saw RSR has them on closeout. Can you sell them any cheaper than RSR at $1143?
Regards

They are, and that is the lowest price I had them listed at.

I agree with the fit and finish being a little less refined but heft? The P210 American is a great performer and fills the niche where SIG was forced out of business by its manufacturing becoming price prohibitive. On the range both guns perform well.

I just have a feeling that when they are gone, then more people will want one because they are not made anymore. Maybe they won't have the cult following of the Swiss guns, but maybe they will?

ETA: My target model will shoot 5 rounds touching @ 25 yards if I do my part.

I did. Mine ate me up so bad I bled. I sold it off & it was my grail gun too.

There is no doubt in my mind that if the current P210's go out of production, the prices will rise. Just like any quality/popular gun that goes out of production. Will they rise to the same level as the Swiss guns? No, not likely but within 5 years or so of them no longer being produced, they will probably be a $2-$2.5k range.

I'm not the type that buys guns because of what I think their future value may be. (There are better ways to invest your money if that's your goal) but I was already considering picking one up anyway and I now know if I'm going to do it, now is the time to do it because I won't pay $2k + for one later.

Snag extra mags for these if you have one.  They're be $100 mags in a few years.

I'm in the process of acquiring extra P220 45ACP mags, got 4 recently, goal is to get 6 more

Well it looks like just the standard model might be discontinued and the target version will remain along with a possible release of a carry model due this year?

Assuming that is the case, I don't think the standard model will increase in price anytime soon if ever (assuming the target model is still available)? If the carry model comes out (and they do it right), the price for used standard models may even go down a tad?

Either way, I'd personally prefer the target model anyway for the better sights and I can swap the grips to the standard grips (or go after market) if I so choose. Other than that, and the forward serrations on the target model, they are basically the same gun.

I am gonna buy a fixed sight model to shoot along with my Target model. I will also squirrel one away unfired, with what I pay for it it can't go down. Now for the target model I never liked the grips and replaced them. I also don't like the fiber front sight and would want a Patridge front sight. I called Sig and they won't sell one unless they install it. Oh and keep in mind when I got my grips from Sig for the standard model they did not come with the screw to hold them together!

There are at 3 other non-Sig options for standard grips. (Hogue, Armorcraft and Grips4u) but I would love some Nills!

What don't you like about them? I haven't see the ones that come with the target model in person but generally speaking, I like FO sites

I'm sad to see the standard model is going. I have one and it's a great gun.

But I'm glad to see the long awaited Carry and Target models are still listed. :)

Fiber sights suck when trying to a 6 o'clock hold on a black bull.

I've not experienced that problem with FO sights?

The Standard may be phasing out but the carry model is joining the Target model.
