Sig P225... (Page 1 of 2)

I recently found a P225 at my LGS for a decent price, so I put it on lay-a-way as soon as I saw it. I just picked it up today. The pistol is in beautiful shape and looks darn near brand new. There was no box, but it did come with four factory mags! The previous owner had installed a nice set of Tru-Glo sights on it. The date code (KA) puts it being made in 1990.

During the 2000's, I was able to put together the West German police collection. HK PSP Walther P5 Sig 225/P6 Sadly, while the P225 was a great feeling pistol in the hand, it didn't translate into an easily shootable pistol for me. It has been sold off, but the PSP and P5 remain. |

I agree, the P225 is one of the best feeling pistols I've ever held. It's right up there with the S&W Model 39's. For my sized hands, the P225 shoot just fine:)! |

| In my opinion, The A1 and especially the 239 are models Sig should've kept making. I think we can all look back and say it made an excellent carry piece, "mid" sized, extremely accurate and easy to manipulate. Of course the retards will say if it doesn't have a light or dot, you're going to die. |

I'm jealous; I got my P6 secondhand after the batches of mags that came in with them had sold.  ETA- I've got a couple of the Marlin 795 ProMags that a couple of people here recommended. The one I tried worked, but the Marlin isn't a gun I'd bet my life on either, at least not with the ProMag. As a backpacking "survival gun" I'd be fine with the Papoose and Marlin mags. I just can't bring myself to trust ProMag, USA mag, Triple K, etc for a carry gun. |
| Congrats on a great gun. To me, it is the most comfortable frame they make, other than the original P228. The stamped slides will last a good long time with maintenance. The magazines alone are getting pretty pricey and having four of them is a great addition. |

| I bought a P6 from AIM surplus over a decade ago. I think I paid about $350 for it and it was my first Sig. It fit my hand like a glove. I gave it to my brother when he graduated SFAS. Since then I’ve picked up an Sig 229 and a 220 . I need to replace that P6 next. |

I went to the gun store almost 20 years ago to get a P228 and it had sold. Well, I had the money and I was there to buy something so on impulse I bought the KA date P225 they had. I have considered selling it over the years but every time I pick up I am amazed once again at how friction just doesn't seem to exist for that pistol. Smoothest cycling gun I have ever had. |

TUFF mag pouches Even better, I just noticed they have some "blems" for sale, which is really a good deal: TUFF blems ROCK6 |
