For some reason selling rear sight pushers that don’t do front sights is a big business. I guess that’s great for Glocks. I’d like a good sight tool that works for front sights too. Any suggestions? These are the next two I’m looking at. Any experience with either? Lyman Avid sight tool And a third possibility: Wire gear |
| Just don't use the VISM one. A friend of mine has it and the sights on a glock broke it. |

I just ordered the lyman too. I tried it on my H&K P30SK and it was just BARELY able to get the rear sight off. With it as low as it could go, it was still a little too high for the rear sight and it pushed a lot higher up on the sight than I liked, but it did get the old one off and the new one on. I kinda wish the pads that tighten against the slide were aluminum. The steel just seems like damage waiting to happen. The one that tightens down on the top of the slide is sharp on the edge of the v cut and cut through the masking tape. Lucky it did not seem to damage the slide. I am going to soften that edge with some emory cloth or a polishing wheel on a dremel. Also, I found it will not do the front sight on a 6 inch 1911 slide. Bummer. |

I've used a few different ones over the years. Some were very expensive but never worked quite well. I just found this on sale for $49 so I decided to give it a shot. | I have the previous generation of the sporgain pusher, and for the price it works pretty good. It has removed and pushed sights on a variety of pistols, even Springfields. It has held up pretty well, the crank is kind of small though, you really have to turn it. I recently used it on the tiny Bodyguard 2.0 slide with success. Just have to make sure any slide is well secured in it. |
