Any history on this guy? I saw one used in great condition for $440. It looks really neat.

Isn't that the lightest gun they made? Or one of the lightest? If that's the aluminum frame with titanium cylinder it seems like a good price. I think they were more than that 10 years ago.

Aluminum or possibly scandium alloy frame with titanium cylinder- great price. Be very careful to examine the yoke area where the barrel screws into the frame- known weak spot that is often found cracked which makes the gun scrap/ spare parts

I had an 360pdand regret selling it.  That is a good price, but be prepared for some hand aches.  I shot exactly two backup quals (10 rounds) and each shot felt like I was hitting my hand with a hammer with the .357mag and I can imagine that the 38 still packs some punch.  For the price I would get it but like others have said give it a good once over, the exotic metals are hit and miss.

It’s very light, even compared to a 442.

I have an M&P 360 similar to the PD. The .38 +P FBI load kicks hard.

Neat guns. $400 seems like a decent deal. I assume it’s the a lock model at that price? The early pre-lock version seems to go for significantly more. They made a 3” version a 337-1 Ti, that I’d love to find someday.

Great price and great little lightweight revolver that packs a PUNCH with full house .357 magnum loads. I read where a user said the recoil was like sticking his hand out the car window at 55mph and slapping a mailbox....... I'd still like to own one but use with .38 special + P loads instead.

Took it shooting more than a few times to get confident with a carry load. Very accurate with 158 grain ammo. 15 yards was 90% hits on a 8 inch bull after a lot of practice. 25 yards is the next goal…. That will be difficult.

Recoil is not bad at all with Remington LSWCHP 158 +P. Don’t be afraid of these revolvers, there is too much fear mongering about recoil. It’s psychological I think, there is no pain as most people claim. Just roll through the break and accept the little guy goin off!

Oh yeah and a 442 feels heavy after getting used to the 337PD. Lol

I’m waiting on my 340PD no lock. That’s the carry load I was thinking about using!

Congrats, they are fine weapons!

It’s a cool to carry a load from the 70s that is just as effective as the modern stuff. Please let us know if the 158 LSWCHP hits to the sights on the 340PD.

Have you shot a snubby alot?

Oh, yes. I shoot at least one of my j-frame snubbies when I hit range. I have the best outcomes with 158 grain ammo especially with the DAO revolvers.

That is a great price then. I use Buffalo-Barnes 125gr low flash short barrel JHP .357 Mag XPB in my 340, which I am plenty happy with. I only ever fire a cylinder or two every couple of months. It isn’t pleasant at all to shoot but its size and lack of weight still make it a viable choice to carry regularly. Especially when I need deep concealment.
