I'm considering ordering a new Ronin 4 1/4" in .45.

I'm curious about the thinline grip panels and whether I can change them for standard grips without changing the bushings.

Also, will the sight cuts accept a Novak low mount rear sight and matching front sight?

Thanks

You’ll need to change the bushings. Get the challis bushings. No idea on the sights.

Thank you. I'll get a set of those.

The rear sight cut is Novak, so a Novak rear will fit. The front sight dovetail is not quite Novak. However, if you send the slide to Novak, they will be able to fit a set of their sights to your gun. They did that for my TRP, which has the exact same sight cuts.

Thank you.
I went ahead and ordered the pistol.
I'm not a fan of fiber optic sights, but I'm willing to give it a try before I decide to change them.

I’m not a huge fan of fiber optic sights either, but I actually like the sights that came on my Ronin.  The Ronin .45 commander is an excellent carry gun.

The front sight is different cut. I bought the a sight from Novak and installed it myself.

I've got the Challis bushings and a set of screws coming as well as a WC ambi safety.
Any idea whether the grip screw bushings are staked or not?
Don't want to strip out the aluminum frame on my new pistol.
I'm going to give the factory sights a chance before I mess with them.

I have the similar GARRISON

I used a bic lighter to heat the red locktite on my factory grip bushings

i also ground a screwdriver bit to fit them tight

had no trouble replacing them

i don’t like the skinny grips

Good to know. I usually use a soldering iron for that sort of thing.
I don't care for the thin grips either.
I've been saving these to put on whatever I ended up buying.

That's a great front sight on any pistol.

I actually like the f.o. sights, depending on the color-green over red.

Got the pistol.  I've installed the new bushings and changed the grips.
Ambi safety should be here Monday.
The trigger kind of sucked, but it cleaned up with a little tweaking.
It shoots 3" high for me at 20yrds but I only have 5 mags through it so far with no failures.

You can send just the slide to Novak's, tell them it's shooting 3 inches high at 20 yards and they can put on the correct height front sight for you.  They did that for my TRP.  They installed the sights the day they got it and shipped it back the next day.

Thanks for that information.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to do that, I just don't like the sights even if they hit to POA.
