Based off websites it looks like the Beretta owned factory in Turkey is turning out new production Cougars. MECGAR is also producing magazines. New replacement parts have been available.

I personally would love one if the updated models with a rail to complement my current model. There are VERY few with the rail.

The Px4 is getting a resurgence in popularity. Hopefully the Beretta group brings it back.

Great news if so - because my experience with spare parts availability has been rough. Something easy like a complete recoil spring/guide assembly is hard to find.

I see parts pretty frequently on both ebay and GB.

I have a 9mm Cougar with a rail. Nice piece, works as advertised. Only downside is it won't take 92 mags. I think if Beretta/Stoeger had made that one change these would have been more popular. Mine has never needed any parts and I seriously doubt it ever well.

The rail adds a lot of bulk. Good pistol had both a Stoeger 8045 and a Beretta 8045, kept the Beretta.
