Background here: I'm looking to purchase over the course of the next couple years several handguns so that my family has a "standard" gun for all of us in the event that parts, magazines, or overall availability and cost become a problem years and years down the road. Having commonality of replacement parts, magazines, holsters, and manuals of arms is a huge plus in my book. My requirements are pretty simple: 1: Big enough to do duty gun stuff, but small enough to conceal 2: Optic ready 3: Light rail 4: Reasonable price for the gun as well as parts and magazines 5: Excellent long term durability and reliability 6: Shootability and controlability for as wide a range of ages and hand sizes as practical I shoot revolvers and 2011s for the most part, but neither of those fit my needs. The easy answer would probably be a G19 MOS Gen 5 or a a Ruger RXM (maybe a M&P2.0). Another possible answer is a P365 which has the added benefit of its modularity. I do, however, prefer a DA/SA gun for that extra bit of safety, and came across the P-09C Nocturne. I know the P-07s were highly regarded as both reliable and durable, but this is a new gun, and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra price over, say, the RXM at just around $350? What are the current experiences with the Nocturne now that (hopefully) the early bugs have been worked through? Thanks! |

I just picked up a P09C Nocturne and so far I have no regrets. It feels good in the hand and I like all the controls. I did run into an issue with the magazine release and a holster from Muddy River Tactical. When inserting into the holster it ejects the magazine. Muddy River Tactical sent me a return slip to fix the issue and their design team will be making changes. I’m guessing the release button is a bit bigger than a P07. Just know that when buying holsters that are for a P07 you may run into an issue. Muddy River is fixing the issue free of charge and that earns my loyalty and business. I have an Osight SE on mine and a Streamlight TLR 7 HL-X. I really love this setup. Right now I have only dry fires the gun and not sure when I’ll get range time. I like hammer fired guns and I feel like this was a great choice and buy for me. |

Attached File I like mine. Grip definitely is more oblong than a Glock or 2011, and it points a little differently too. But, it shoots pretty well and I’ve really been liking it. My only DA/SA since I sold my FNX. |

@bluedog82 how does yours suppress? I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews on P07/09c with cans, with some saying they are gassy hosts. This seems counterintuitive given hammers are usually reported to be preferable over strikers. Thanks for any insight you have. I’ve got a Huxwrx flow 9k ti looking for hosts. |

| I bought a P09 F Nocturne at a gun show on a whim. I really didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. It shoots great and for some reason, I really like the grip. I did the MCARBO trigger job and got light strikes on some PPU 9mm. Swapped back to the factory hammer spring and the light strikes went away. The trigger is good enough now. |
