Changed some since I got it. slide milled for a dot optic. Slide refinished (melonite). 2.0 internals in the frame. Tyrant CNC trigger. Silencer Co. threaded barrel. Ten degree angled striker. M&P suppressor height sights. Thumb safeties added. Trigger pull is running about 4&1/4 lbs. Not too bad really. Attached File |

With past large pistols (M&P) I've gone one of two ways with getting them milled for a dot optic. A couple were milled for a full sized optic with suppressor height replacement sights. Big optic has a taller/bigger window, true. If you opt for the smaller sized (K series Holosun) the shop can mill the slide for the optic and keep the factory sights. That worked out well on my 1.0 .40 S&W Compact (.40 S&W 10 +1). No need to replace the factory sights with a Holosun 407K. I thought I'd try it again on this pistol but ordered an Osight SE for it. I don't know if the Osight SE is taller in the base section or not but I could barely see the top of the front sight, and I do mean barely. Since my ultimate goal was to put a suppressor on it one day I figured I'd try some suppressor height sights and what I get is an "absolute co witness." The dot is just barely above the top of the front sight. It wasn't an issue for me in the first range trip. When I look through the optic I don't even notice the front sight. If I want to shoot a group with the iron sights I turn off the optic. I've also found I really like the small dot optics. Not a small dot, but the small lens/size optics. I have no issue with lens/window size. If you're an RMR guy, I had a couple of those a few years ago. Had a very unpleasant experience trying to get them repaired and never bought another one. |

My Gen 1 with a Holosun K. I have a Core coming to replace the K. I need to get the grip stippled one day. The pistol is amazing except for the texture. It has a Dan Burwell trigger job and a later trigger bar with the enhanced reset bump. It's the best striker fired trigger I have ever felt.

He really did a good job of explaining what he did and why it works. |

You will need to replace the grip frame pin with a 2.0. I did this with my 45 1.0. I like the more aggressive 2.0 backstraps. It feels more like my Shield 45 grips now. I got all the parts from midwest gun works. I also added a thumb safety and replace the trigger all the internals with Apex parts. You will need a 2.0 trigger bar as well. You really don't need to change to a 2.0 locking lug. I did, it's not a big thing on the .45's. On the 2.0 9s and .40's the rails on the locking lugs are much longer than those on a 1.0 locking lug. On the .45's there's virtually no difference, so no advantage in going with the 2.0 locking lug replacement. 1.0 and 2.0 locking lugs for the 9MM and .40 S&W pistols. Attached File 1.0 and 2.0 locking lugs for the .45 acp. If you look closely you can see the small difference. Keeping the 1.0 locking lug allows you to keep your 1.0 take down lever and you don't have to remove the upper front corner of the slot in the frame so the 2.0 disassembly lever will fit into place. I didn't realize, till I had them in my hand/side by side, that the locking lugs of the .45's were so similar vs. the 9MM and .40 S&W parts. Attached File |

I have the Carry on my 365 and was considering that for my M&P Compact but have been waiting to see it against the Core. |
