Sooo,picked up a new Platypus commander size(4.2”)and wanta go little different direction with the dot then i have in the past Ive been running dots on pistols for long time now and have a certain taste you can say I own Holosun and Trijicon and even a Sig RomeoZero Pro(its been top notch for me no issues)i wanted to go SRO on this gun but the over hang causing stove pipes makes me hesitant and the HD is just to damn big for a commander in my opinion so i was headed to the RMR but keep seeing EOTech for great prices and i cant help but wonder why i dont see them on more shooters guns Its hard to put my hands on one before buying it hence the question “Why no EOTech pistol dot love”? I cant go to a range without seeing one on every other rifle,my own experience with 512 series has been great,little grainy??but no complaints on rifle dot and ive had one 512 since the Obama buying spree years ago So is there anyone running EOTech pistol dots?? Or why arent you running them? For sub $250 its gota be an option unless its crap,,i can live with no shake awake and theres nuff money left over for light and holster compared to the RMR So is it me just being anal retentive or chicken shit or am i missing something |

| Ive had mine since they were released. Actually got it a little early as an LE sample. I liked it enough after T&E that I bought it instead of sending it back. Nice big window. Clear glass. Clear dot. Battery life seems shorter than other dots. And on occasion Ive had it "self adjust" brightness levels if it is pressed just right into the holster. At least 2000 rounds on it at this point. I prefer my DPP and RMR HD but I still trust and use the Eotech. |

I was definitely able to see the delamination of the glass on my work issued 512 so I wasn’t sad to see it returned and replaced by an H2 that gave me zero problems ever and that I could leave on for a whole shift. |

Mine shifted some and I had previously thought it was just due to differences in ammo. It actually could have been. Either way just as another poster pointed out, the eotech rifle optics had an issue with seals leaking and then fogging, and also delaminating. I had the leaky seal in an exps 3, which at the time, was considered a very quality optic. After that experience, coupled with the shifting zeros debacle, I was done. None of that helps answer the question being asked by the op. OP, I personally believe you would be served better with an optic other than something made by eotech based on several well documented reviews. Just like the rifle optics, I think the pistol optic they make does better with competitive shooting, or movie acting, where it can fail without crippling you. |
