I know there is a ton of semi auto new stuff on here, but i have been buying up pre 1965 revolvers. I picked up a k-38 masterpiece and a 17-2 I am working on buying a bunch more of these. for the prices, its just not worth the new smiths. I do like to collect more than i shoot. |

I keep my eyes out for them, especially if made during the heyday of American manufacturing with actual men who knew more then just how to slap a couple parts together without knowing much more. I have always considered them [Colt/S&W] as working art if made right. |

I bought a 1917 Sw n Frame brazilan years ago for a song, maybe 175$?. it has the most amazing trigger and action. Back then labor was cheap,middle of Depression it was really cheap to get good men on the tools. It shows. Powers Metalcraft did a refinish on its old ass it now looks as good as it feels. |

| I picked up a 1909 Colt US Navy .45 DA (1 of 1000), an 1895 Colt US Navy .38 DA, and a 1903 Colt New Navy .41 LC on deployment last year. It was a treat when I was able to pick them up from my gun shop last December. Just scored a 1913 Colt Model of 1911 US Navy with Colt letter for a steal of a price. Looking for a 1917 Colt or Smith New Service. Every once in a while the shop has had some nice revolvers from older farmers for sale. Got a 1922 Colt Police Positive .32 and a 1950 Smith K-22 Masterpiece in the original box. Both in amazing condition. The hunt continues. |
WFO for life!
Got this a week and a half ago on impulse.  Model 10-7. Been wanting one for years but been looking for one with a worn finish but in good mechanical condition. Missed out on the police trade ins and prefer to insect in person before buying. This one is so nice im almost afraid to touch it. As long as I own it it's never seeing the inside of a holster. I have a Ruger GP100 and an SP101 if I want to carry a revolver and the search for the Model 10 beater continues. |

In January 2023, I owned 3 S&W revolvers-a 4" 686, a 4" M-10 and a satin nickel Model 38. I now own 95 S&W revolvers, with the oldest dating back to 1884. These family pics were taken in November. S&W revolvers are my favorite handguns, I use carry and shoot them more than anything else. Flirted with some rugers, tried to like colt ( even a 60’s python that I never felt was worth the hype and was later replaced with more S&W’s without regret) ( I do prefer real colt SAA’s though) Never much for N frames prefer the K’s and J’s. Older the better for me the sweet spot is 1955-1980 I do have one modern 442 I got for cheap ( clocked barrel shoots 4 inches right at 10 yards!) looking for an older pre lock J to replace it at some point |
