Found this "used" unfired Night Stalker Comp in .45 at my local pawn shop for $500... so why not I said.... I have never owned a 1911 with optic cut and I had a 407K laying around so it seemed like a good match. now I know what a few other Night Stalker folks were talking about... the irons are centered perfectly on the pistol, but when I sighted in the red dot it is off way to the left when comparing with the irons... nope, the sight is dead on and the rear iron almost has to be drifted off to the right to make a straight shot using just the irons. I don't get it, but hey.... I got me another cool 1911

the whole thing didn't last long with me... the trigger was meh right out of the box, had to do a little sear spring tweaking to get it fairly nice, the whole thing got smoother after the first hundred. the recoil with the comp was OK but the slide was moving way to fast...I believe the recoil spring was under powered. I hated the factory aluminum grips, all they had to do was round off that straight line a bit and they would have felt better. the deal breaker for me was having to drift the rear sight all the way over to the right to get "close" at 7 yards . I would have had to also move the front sight to the left a bit to get exactly on target. for a new pistol this was a no go...I traded it yesterday... |

Sometimes changing out and fitting a quality barrel bushing is the answer to Poi not lining up with POA I agree, that having to drift a rear sight all the way over is a sign of something not right. |
