I'm in SW , MO and I'm hoping to find a place to shoot 1,000 yards. I have done it many times and can bring my own steel if needed. I did join a 600 yard range, and love it, but I'm craving more distance. Any recommendations?Attached File Photo from where I used to shoot in PA |

We did a Cola Warrior at Gadsden a couple years ago. It was a nice range. They also do PRS and similar matches out there if someone were to be interested in that. I think they are listed on the impactscoring app, not practiscore..... if i remember correctly. You can also look into Fclass (which you have probably seen at Piney), Longrange Benchrest (I shoot 600/1,000 yard matches) or even ELR matches out in Kansas with the 338. Shooting matches kind of gets you in conversations with guys that know where good places to shoot are. |

In addition to the 1k ranges and the 600 there is a NRL .22 range (I think out to 300) 5-6 pistol bays and a 100 yd bay. They host monthly 3-Gun matches, Missouri MOST matches and NRL hunter style matches. They are also several major matches in various disciplines. If I'm not mistaken there may still be a couple membership spots available, I think the yearly dues are somewhere around $150. You can message the page and Chad will get back with you. Sept 11, 12, 13 is the annual Gen III charity match, would be a good weekend to check it out. |

A wide range of rifles can shoot the matches, its largely a game of being able to shoot in a wide variety of positions, and not a game of super small group shooting rifles....... at least to have fun. |

I don't control my recoil well enough with my .308 to do so. At least not in odd positions. I probably could manage my .260 but, that's the Desert Tech and I'm not quite used to the bullpup  I don't have a lot of time behind it. It shoots fantastic, but I'm awkward with it. I should probably sell it and put the money towards something else but it is fun to say I have a .338 Lapua magnum even if all I did was develop a load for it. |

I took a couple of pokes at 1000 but I didn't hear a clang and the mirage was so thick I couldn't discern any impacts.
