I want to go today but I don’t want to waste $20 and be disappointed. Like usual.

It was a waste of time, just like I figured. Nothing good.

Unless you are looking for a Fudd gun or a shotgun, don't waste your time on Sherman. It's a ten minute show, in and out.

Fort Worth wasn’t much better.  It was nice not being elbow to elbow to people though.  Fewer dealers and not a lot of people walking around selling guns.

I'll try to update this tomorrow unless someone wants to go ahead and post an update post I can copy and paste into the OP.  Think next weekend is Canton.  I doubt very much I can make it, but I might get lucky.

10-11 November:

Canton
Stephenville
Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show - the big one.  You know you want to go.

Sorry I didn't have a chance to update this earlier.  Hope y'all have a good time in Tulsa.

I was just wondering where the shows were this weekend.

Thank you for continually keeping us up to date.

Made it to Canton.  Running around in uniform.

Just left canton myself. Ok  group I guess, mainly hunting guns. Bought a beeman R7 pretty cheap, did few other trades, picked up an H&K high reliability mag for just 20.

Apparently a relatively new show.  Lots of the usual DFW vendors there.

Dammit. I had other obligations or I would have met up and bought you lunch.
I kind of know the CPD chief too. Brad. Good guy. Haven't seen him in years though.

I realized I could go @ literally the last minute.  Drove straight there, walked through for about 45 minutes, then had to book.

17-18  November:

Brownwood
Longview
Mesquite Big Town (Premier)

I should be able to make Mesquite, but don't think I can make lunch.

My apologies for not updating this sooner, work has been much busier than usual lately.

Hoping to make Mesquite this afternoon.

Dallas Market Hall
Nacogdoches

Suggestions for lunch?  I expect to be @ Market Hall on Saturday.

Lunch at DACA? Usually bring something, or eat at the hall...actually they have the place Ted-D's or some such usually there, expensive, but ok food for gunshow fare...they have a good pulled pork with chile lime slaw sammich....

ETA To other guys reading, yeah, DACA has been not great the last few shows, but this one might start the turn around, they are looking to turn it around. There will be some good displays put up, NRA is ponying up a bunch of prize money...hoping for a really good show!

One oversight is the show this weekend isn't listed on Gunshows-USA - which is my go to listing for area gunshows.  I'll speak to the mgt about that this weekend.

I want to go to the DACA show but I went to the Ft Worth gun show a few weeks ago hoping to find some decent milsurp but it was pitiful.  I'd had to drive all the way to Dallas to see a bunch of jerky, shockwave shotguns, and imported AR15 parts.

You just described the FW shows and most others in the DFW area. But the reason I go to the Market Hall show is to find good quality parts and accessories, lots of nice guns (with, of course, some fudd guns too), and I've never seen any jerky and trash merchandise there. I understand they don't allow the junk the other shows do and from what I've seen over the past few years, they really don't. And I especially appreciate the free parking.

Last Big Town show I went to, picked up an Inland mixmaster in a Choate stock for $500.  You can whine about someone selling jerky or candles, or you can just walk on by.  I've been going to gun shows for more than 20 years now, and no one's yet made me buy a candle.

What time are you planning on going tomorrow? I don't know of anything to eat around there. Looks like there are a few hipster breweries. That's about it.

Had a good time.  Got 2 GI mags from 98kGuy, found a reproduction stock pouch, and a khaki sling and oiler.

Saw 2x CMP carbines for under $600.

Market Hall isn't a giant show anymore, but where else do you find CMP papered M1 carbines for under $600?

1-2 December:

Abilene
Glen Rose
Lewisville
Paris

I should be able to make Lewisville.  Holler if you want to meet for lunch somewhere.  Bass Pro is just down the road.

8-9 December

Allen (Premier)
Tyler

I won't be able to make Allen, might be able to hit the Tyler show for a hot minute.

We have two Fort Worth shows & Mesquite Big Town before the end of the year, 2 more big shows before Christmas.

The Allen show is small and has an odd layout but is usually pretty productive. Lots of black gun parts dealers and a fair supply of complete guns. It's also usually a good place for mag holders and there is a guy who custom makes kydex holsters for a fair price. Parking is free but admission at $10 is a bit high.
A small show that might surprise you.

i'll be set up in Tyler again this weekend trading my various left over parts and doing knife sharpening.  Usually a good crowd at Tyler.  If you come through drop by and say hi.  I'm in the main room opposite end from the stage as you come in the door.  Look for the big grey Baldor buffer I use for sharpening.

Well having a good time here today at the Tyler show.  Sharpened a bunch of knives and taking home less gun junk than I came with. Acquired a benelli m4 with said proceeds.  Of course the bad weather has brought in a big crowd.

15-16 December

Burleson
Fort Worth (non-Premier) - Will Rogers
Jefferson

Lunch at King Tut on Magnolia, NOON Saturday, just S and the other side of the river from the gun show.  Park on the street.  Drinks @ Ye Olde Bull & Bush afterwards, just south of the show on Montgomery.

Might be toting around the 26" pencil bbl thumbhole stock AR - amazingly light; more likely, the only half-restored IBM mixmaster.

We'll be easy to spot Saturday - will be lugging this around:

Turns out that's a 27" bbl from muzzle to bolt face - from a 27" Green Mountain Blank.  Paladin Machine Service rocks!

My FIL made the bayonet lug from a P-14 lug and cleaned up the Chassepot rifle bayonet and it's 22" blade made in 1869.

Motown_Steve and I hit the FW show today, and scored free parking right behind the Botanical Gardens.  Walk 1/4 mile and you're @ the back of the gun show entrance.

Saw a 20 ga Mossberg Shockwave that I'd like to snag for the middle girl who's 20, but don't think the budget will stretch that far for this Christmas.  King Tut was delicious as usual, and a chance to practice my meager Arabic.

The only thing you found worthwhile was a shockwave 20ga?  Oof.

Oh, there was plenty of stuff to buy, I'm just not in the market for em.  I cast my own lowers, build my own ARs, so only shopping for Christmas @ this point.

It's probably the 2nd largest D/FW show.  Saw a BFL today, but not the owner.  Also saw a complete Type 38 w/ bayonet, dust cover, and mum, but not numbers matching.

My knife/gun buddies have a .45 Beretta carbine on the south side.  On the south wall is a Dan Wesson bbl kit in the case.

Free parking, but crowded.
