Lone Star is always smaller than Premier's Ft Worth shows...

Am going to try to make Allen to walk around at next weekend, although likely on Sunday as the wife-unit wants to hit Third Monday Trade Days in McKinney next weekend...

Went back this afternoon, sold my 57 upper & a Palmetto/Magpul lower for $1100.  Now I have 5 mags I have to get rid of...

I thought it was a good show.  Definitely a sellers market, even to dealers.

Without the AR57 upper in production, the Lyndon is a historic curiosity.  My first gun design that demonstrated some of the concepts to be used in Effort Bloomberg.

I'll not be in attendance next week, unfortunately.

I'll try to hit Denison on Saturday and Allen on Sunday.

Nice venue in Denison but the last two have been pistol and equipment heavy and not so much on AR stuff. Might not be worth the drive from the Metroplex but a good show for the locals. Tends to be a show for outside vendors with not much participation from Grayson/Fannin county dealers.
Allen always a good show in a nice but oddly set up venue.

The Ft Worth show was stupid busy all weekend. I was glad to get the truck loaded and sit down for the drive home. (I didn't sit down at all either day)

I won't be in Allen next weekend but will be at the Amarillo show. If anyone is out there come by and say "Hi".  Just look for the  Bunny as always.

Anyone have any thoughts on meeting for dinner instead of lunch. Setting up at the show means I can't leave for lunch. The wife and I went with some other vendors to Milano's Italian Saturday after the show ended. It's on 7th street close to the venue, great food at great price.

I was there twice and missed you both times.  What kind of Bunny are we looking for?

This is ARFCOM, so we can get both.  Lunch and dinner.  Next time you're in town we'll figure something out.  I tend to avoid the 7th Street development due to the parking situation.

Haven’t been to a gun show in a long time.  Going to Allen tomorrow.

I have 5k of 9mm and 2k of 5.56 to sell. Can I pull this is a cart or will they only let me in with what I can carry in a backpack?

Probably going to Denison tomorrow.
Let us know how strictly Allen enforces the mask thing. Collin county gets rather pissy about that these days and I imagine the high speed, low drag Allen PD will be right there with them.

Took a bunch of stuff to Longview today, have more to bring in the morning.  Taking more of the shotgun ammo i had, and a few duplicates of things i've had for a while as well.  And this HK vp70z with the worlds worst trigger on a semi auto.........hopefully some hkphile will fall in love with it.  Did talk to a few of the dealers and hopefully will wind up with some 1903 Springfield stocks......

One disappointment i found out is that the venue is demanding that everyone wear a mask.  Not sure how well that will be enforced though.   If anyone comes by the Longview TX show, i'll be set up on the back wall with the big grey baldor buffer doing knife sharpening and trying to trade my old junk for some new to me junk!  Stop by and say hi.

Shit, stopped in at Allen after swinging out to 3rd Monday Trade days (McKinney) which was pretty dead, but I did pick up an original crate  for an XM-409E5 HEAT round for the M551 Sheridan, never seen a crate for those before, so I was happy.

Anyway, showed up at Allen at around 11:45 or so. the line stretched all the way down the building and around, figured nothing in there I need that bad to wait out there that long!

Maybe go early tomorrow and see...But I picked up a 100% correct Savage No. 4 Mk I* with Long Branch Bayonet and sling, a commercial WKC 98k bayonet, the canvas case for the M1917 water cooled MG condensing hose, and a 225 round PV-1 Ventura .50 cal ammo feed can at a small out of the way shop on Thursday, so I spent most of my play money...

Good evening my fellow dfw peeps.

I did not get to the Allen show today. I was busy.
There is an on site custom KYDEX holster vendor at most of the Premier dfw shows.
Is that vendor at this show?
I have a need for a couple of holster options that can not be had anywhere else.
Thanks

There is usually a guy at the Allen show on the outside of the rink that does custom Kydex work. I've bought several things from him over the years and have been happy with all of his work.  He is not on the concourse but inside the building.

shorty, were you able to sell your ammo?

Sgt Moose goes to most of the shows - he's a custom Kydex holster maker, but does his work @ my former employer, Trinity Ordnance, in Lake Worth.

There is another vendor who makes Kydex holsters on the spot.

Yes sir, sold it all in about 2 hours.

All of the vendors were asking $15 a box for 5.56 and $30-$35 for 9mm. Hell one vendor bought all of my AE 5.56 for $10 a box....he had his listed for $15 so I guess he was selling it.

Longview was crazy busy, at least a lot more people than normal.  Ammo is high of course. And still moving at crazy prices.  Few people looked at the hk vp70z actually knew what it was.   Much of the  crowd is still not normal gun people here, even in redneck central.  Seems even the old school liberals are learning you must be prepared to protect yourself in case the cavalry is not coming.

I may be at big town on Saturday with a friend, not sure i can make lunch or not.  Will see if he wants to.

Longview went pretty well.  Crowded as heck for much of Saturday, but Sunday did not pick up until after church let out or the heathens woke up after partying Saturday night....... Usually do not do as much sharpening at Longview because the crowd there being more blue collar knows how to sharpen their own knife.  Did correct some pretty badly abused blades and make them sharp however.  Some people actually knew what the HK VP70Z was but i think that was mostly the video game crowd, other than a few older guys who remember them when new.  Got rid of some of my junk and acquired new junk.  Main thing was a 1903A3 that seems in good shape, but the bolt lock isnt working right, so i may be using it as parts for the action i've been looking for parts for, or use my parts to fix this one to shootable shape.  Also picked up a firestar in 9mm so anyone have any mags?  And i also realized i'm not so young anymore....my legs HURT by the end of the day!  Getting old sucks, i do not recommend it very highly, but i checked and it does beat the alternative.

Being 75149, I might actually make this Mesquite show since I have a few things to sell (shotgun, S&W 5903, maybe my model 38 bodyguard).

Got there at 8:50 was in by 9:30. Did pretty much what I was there to do - get some 1911 and AR parts to finish projects. Ammo prices twice what they were in January and scarce. Very different demographics in the crowd, and 4473s being filled out everywhere. Everybody is arming up in anticipation of the pending national emergency.

Until crazy stops, I don't have much use for shows.  I'm certainly not paying current pricing for anything common.  And I have no need to be among a bunch of panic buyers with zero trigger discipline.  If I were selling, I'd take my chances.  But I'm not.  So I'm not.  Be safe.  I'll see you when libtards aren't invading our space.
